3rd move...

Opened up the south door on the greenhouse for the first time in over a year.  The chicks graduated to the grownup pen this morning.  They got the whole day to get used to their new home.  Tonight the hens will join them.   I think they are big enough now to withstand some pecking order training from the older girls.  93,100,65,0,B

transplants

My buddies the Boatmans brought me some plants to torture in my greenhouse.  I will do what I can to minimize their pain.  I reckon it wont take long for word to get out to all the bugs that there are several varieties of tomatoes and one new pepper plant at the Insectarestaurant.  80,98,63, .01",B

The Optimistic Pessimist

In the event that I start flying regularly (soon?)...the likelihood that I will break my propeller within the first year is statistically high.  A carbon fiber replacement for the one that my unit came with is $500.  I decided to get a wooden one for $250 to keep on hand for that statistical eventuality.  While I'm at it - also got a replacement windsock ($25).  Note to self:  Put the new one out only when I am going to fly and it will last a lot longer.  92,98,74,0,B

Not for such rain have I prayed, but for the rain of Your favor, blessing, and graciousness.

think on these things...

Philippians 4

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Kiting with David

My friend David Jensen brought his PPG grear out to practice.  All we got in was a bunch of kiting...I'm about 20 hrs ahead of him so was able to actually give him some pointers.  Doing a no wind forward with his extra large wing was interesting.  It is 4 square meters larger than mine and quite the bear to get in the air.  88,97,54,0,B

fine(enough) woodworking

Been just over a month and have still to jump back into the sky.  I think it is coming any day now.  Decided to give myself a break (and a foot up) by building a stand to set the paramotor on so I don't have to kneel down to get into it then heft if off the ground with my 55 year old knees.  I have gotten pretty good at controlling the wing so I just have to commit to a launch.  This experience reminds me exactly of what it felt like just before the second time I jumped off a high dive at the city pool I used to go to back in Indiana.  84,92,54,0,B

TCR update

My friends from Texas Country Reporter came out for a return visit to shoot an update story.  A lot has changed since they were here just over 5 years ago ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSEEX6Z8vcU ).  Ben enjoyed meeting Bob Phillips. 88,98,55,0,B
