the last halloween?

So now we are told to be mindful of how we dress for halloween. Costumes must not be racist, violent, sexist, albeistic, objectifying, or promote rape culture - pay no mind to the media and popular culture (and dressing up as a women is OK for Bruce Jenner).  The idea of costumes should be banned altogether...you should just be yourself and that should be good enough!  To add insult to injury, the Department of Energy now warns that pumpkins cause global warming.  Take heart America; the holiday will endure as long as it promotes the idea that people have to give you free stuff just for showing up at their door.  FYI...this year Americans will embrace income inequality by giving away over $2 billion in candy.  66,72,59, .09",B

silly silver

Found these on ebay.  Perhaps I can use them to pay for dental work in the event of an economic collapse.  These can be up to 100% silver but are more likely an alloy mix including 28% tin and 4% copper.  The pellets were mixed with mercury in a way to produce a paste that hardens into a solid. (Amalgams...aka silver fillings). Mercury by itself is toxic but once chemically bound to other metals it becomes inert and bio compatible. Just as chlorine is highly toxic alone but once linked with Sodium it becomes something the human body can't live without...Salt.  They were made by Engelhard Industries...world renowned refiner of precious metals (and origin of the James Bond character Goldfinger).  76,80,57, .11",B

Profiteering Prophet of Doom

I never trusted Alex Jones. Don't get me wrong...I do believe the wheels are in motion toward a one world government (or "new world order" if you prefer - led by the banking elite), but I'm not convinced of all the sinister steps that he professes.  It is an obvious conclusion that our homogeny will eventually lead in that direction.  I am however, very suspicious when AJ (as his devout followers refer to him) just happens to have a cure-all for sale for every ill that he claims has been duped upon humanity toward that end. Tell me the direction the world is going but please don't try to sell me stuff - a squirt a day from a dropper bottle of snake oil will not undo the damage.  Hint: In today's self absorbed society; if the world falls into chaos, all the prepping (and Super Male Vitality) will make little difference in your chances of survival.  59,78,54,0,B

I used to like Glenn Beck...

...but I can't make it past the first break on any of the programs on his network when this commercial pops up.  Just another couple of armageddon hucksters.  Like all the rest of them out there, I might be more open to their ideas if they weren't so bent on selling useless crap.  71,80,54,0,B

rudiments of the world

Colossians 2:As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

wrong message...

Internet idiocy of the day:  So this story pops up on Facebook this morning.  This is about one thing and one thing only; to program the population toward further dependancy on government.  When they see the word "unemployment", people in today's society immediately think of a monthly check - not a life situation.  This is not the kind of thinking that built this country.  Just staying home on the government tit is better for your mental health than taking a little personal resposibility?  I had a couple of jobs in my youth that I didn't like but I did them because I had to earn a living.  It taught me to take advantage of all the opportunities available in this country to better my options and create my future - not just quit and live on the dole to save my sanity until that perfect job comes along.  Guess what...that "perfect job" is earned through hard work, not handed to you on a silver government platter.  (And if you are not happy about "income inequality", stop crying to the government to make the rich share their wealth - get off your ass and create your own wealth.  Then we'll see how fast you're willing to share what your own labors have produced...)  78,85,62,0,B

Affordable Heathcare

So I finished all the treatments with my Exogen Ultrasound Bone Healing System.  Based on my research, I really believe it did jumpstart my "delayed union".  After the 185th daily dose I got this message on the screen.  Did some digging online and found no information about how to reset the device other than it can't be.  Seems the unit has only been approved by the FDA for that number of uses.  Additional treatments if needed would require a doctor's prescription  and a brand new qizmo.  I called the rep from Bioventus and she said to just throw it away - it won't function any longer (that certainly takes care of any secondary market resale value!).  My new goal in life is to hack this silly little machine, or find someone who can - UK Neil, wanna take a stab at this project?  If anything, I think I could easily rewire the power that lights the screen to a couple of LEDs and make a rechargeable flashlight out of it.  Doesn't seem quite right to simply throw away something my insurance company paid $4500 for.  75,80,60,T,0

funny money

So I bought a few silver eagles.  That's right...I bought some legal tender.  To be specific - I paid $19.66 per one dollar coin consisting of one troy ounce of 999 fine silver with a spot price at the time of $16.00.  They are very handsome coins considering where they come from.  My first thought was that this is one of the few things our government does really well...until I did some research.  Yes, their quality control is above par by almost all standards - but I began to think about why they go to such trouble to mint these.  Turns out they began back in 1986 as a means to try to balance the yearly federal budgets by minting their defense stockpile of silver which at the time was over 105 million troy ounces.  They have been pumping them out every year since then.  By 2002 the reserve was gone and from then on their profit margin has taken a serious hit as they now have to purchase silver on the open market to keep up with demand.  They are on schedule to produce a record 45 million silver eagles this year.  So why do they go to such trouble to make these?  Because the buck doesn't stop there.  Although they are legal tender, they do not go into circulation - rather they are collected, horded, and resold in the secondary market.  The twist to their scheme is that they tax the capital gain profit up to 28% when sold or exchanged.  Even with that, I don't believe we will ever see a balanced yearly budget again...not to mention a national debt of over 18 trillion with an additional 200 trillion in unfunded liabilities.  75,81,57,0,C

Saw my surgeon this morning.  Good news is no broken screws which means the bone is taking my weight.  Bad news is I am supposed to give up using my beloved crutches over the next two weeks.  83,88,61,0,C

compound hoof nippers

Got some new hoof nippers for Ben.  This one is a compound nipper which makes nipping fast and easy.  I have been lucky since my infirmity in that Ben's long hoof tips have broken off just right...but they could use some extra work.  Hoping that after my next doctor visit I will get the OK to hobble out in the pen so I can cuddle'n'clip.  80,86,60,0,B

Alf

Noticed a couple of days ago that someone had been raiding the chicken feed in the greenhouse.  At first I thought it was the roosters...till I spotted a javelina nearby on Sunday.  Caught him in the act early this morning.  I don't think I will bother building a bigger trap...closing the greenhouse door ought to do the trick.  I don't reckon they are as good at climbing as the racoons were.  80,87,63,0,B

casting grain

Placed an order for some casting grain last week with Monarch.  Making the jump from sterling to 999 fine silver for next year's minting.  Bought on the dip in silver after figuring out how good their prices are.  Saved 4% on the total by not using a credit card and doing it the old fashioned way - by mailing a check.  Just got a response that they received payment along with a postcard I just happened to have included.  78,82,59,0,B
Hello John,
Just wanted to write a quick note to thank you for sending us a copy of
"Sunday Nap with Ben."  It was a big hit around the office and currently
has a home on the fridge in the employee break room.  I think that many of
the folks around here found themselves yearning for a Ben of their own.
:)
Thanks again,

Colossae

Colossians 3If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

a shoe

Weening myself off the boot.  Time to start building up my girly calf muscle.  Just got a smaller leg brace that allows my ankle to flex and a new pair of shoes (seems I only own one regular boot).  My old right boot got a little bloody and the EMT's had to cut it up to get it off my boo boo.  Unfortunately it got thrown away...I kinda wish I had saved it for the archives - or Ebay.  87,95,67,0,B
