last purchase of the year...

Bit the bullet on a new computer.  Decided a laptop would be a more versatile approach.  After a lot of research, this website sealed the deal.  Not too shabby as is and it is easy to add more SDRAM and a larger SSD hybrid drive if I find I need it.  Over the past 30 years I have owned 5 main computers (Amstrad, Dell, Apple, HP, HP) and this is the first time I have spent more money for my latest one (not counting 2 tablets and a crappy netbook).  Funny thing is...the new Dell laptop is only $250 more than what I spent on my current HP All in One six years ago - but miles ahead of it as far as storage, processor speed, and graphics capabilities.  Thank you Moore's Law.  65,71,41, .04",C

Actually Moore's law has been broken on processors. Low incremental improvements and higher prices at the high levels.

I know you know , Your laptop will run longer on a chill mat. After trying Win10 I decided to run LINUX . Good Fortune. They sell good products .

Hey John, Wish I had caught this before you purchased the Dell. Give newegg.com a look. Specifically at the gaming platforms - laptop/desktop. Gaming PC's are inherently good for photo or video editing via larger storage capicity and RAM, higher end graphics cards, sound and processing speed, plus many more ports and accessibility types. Newegg offers far superior customer srvc to anything Dell can offer. Their computers also don't come packed with all the bloatware Dell installs. And the price for a compatible system will be less. Check out the site. Even if you decide not to return the Dell, you'll want to upgrade that tiny 8GB SSD to larger capacity or if your MOBO has a PCIe slot you'll want to bump up to M.2

Thanks David...I did my research and newegg had comparable systems for about the same price. As for "bloatware"...that is easily removed if it is a problem. As far as customer service goes, they are all about the same as long as it is a major fault of the hardware. FYI - I have already ordered an extra 8 gigs of ram and a 500 gig SSD drive.
