Cut it back to 30 grams and I am getting consistently perfect casts with no air trapped.
John Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12783305402239706779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-90013052845626443372018-09-27T11:52:04.932-05:002018-09-27T11:52:04.932-05:00This came to mind when I saw it!

Maybe the fill "tube" becomes solid before the centre of the cross becomes solid, so no new material can flow in to fill the shrinking. I would would increase the diameter of the fill "tube" and maybe also make it a cone to keep more material in the fill tube, trying to keep it liquid longer than the centre of the cross.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17621207177332262174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-88457622138610321662018-09-26T19:14:34.313-05:002018-09-26T19:14:34.313-05:00A repeating fail should be contaminated contact po...A repeating fail should be contaminated contact point in mold which could be milled out.
This might be worked around but you cannot cover any contaminant - only remove it.
Bubble in casting probably off-gassing from contaminant in high heat of pour.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16688625811762405137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-42574507293441256512018-09-26T18:51:36.260-05:002018-09-26T18:51:36.260-05:00Impurities in the metal can cause this and unless ...Impurities in the metal can cause this and unless you are sure of the source then you can't really tell.96Treeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08716538387188852143noreply@blogger.com
