I did it voluntarily rather than because it was required. My older brother and sister ran and were good and since I hadn't the hand eye for other sports I followed in their footsteps. I went to state in XC a couple times and track once, Now I am curious to know if my name is on any dusty pages of records still...RoadieRyanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15900109046198641775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-28286839680190273672016-04-24T15:30:04.830-05:002016-04-24T15:30:04.830-05:00Like John Well's High School, the Tomball Texa...Like John Well's High School, the Tomball Texas High School I attended (1950 thru 1954), also passed a new rule that all student athletes must participate in two sports. To insure this rule was respected - they also informed us we would not get our Letter Jacket - if we ignored this rule. I had lettered in football my 2nd and 3rd years as a defensive end, and badly wanted that third Senior year Letter Jacket - so I chose track as my alternative sport. Not being very swift - I chose the mile run. Best I could do - was finish 3rd in the mile run at the District Track meet - but I again earned that coveted Letter Jacket. ------ All my high school sports career did - was convince me to concentrate on my college education. My Chemical Engineering studies were rather difficult – and didn’t leave time for sports. But that earned BS degree in CHE in 1959 – was well worth the effort.

Ronald Mahanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14212335044689143408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-74540866617727928812016-04-24T12:00:19.400-05:002016-04-24T12:00:19.400-05:00Well, even if you can't remember it, congratul...Well, even if you can't remember it, congratulations.
Dizzy-Dickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14150939928800538404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-38861256804284098062016-04-24T09:46:45.176-05:002016-04-24T09:46:45.176-05:00Agreed Mike. But my little Chihuahua dog has a neck brace on now and we walk 5 times around the house twice a day and he runs like the wind too. So God has a plan. The dog and I exercise now.Margery Billdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05589667608391862832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-55735237600021806472016-04-23T19:58:32.602-05:002016-04-23T19:58:32.602-05:00Yes I remember giving an impromptu speech at a Uni...Yes I remember giving an impromptu speech at a University years ago and the young Clintons were there and said they liked what I said.
