We just had a tech class at work on Thursday about these and I ordered some to play with.

I also found some pre made GE LED white lights that you can daisy chain together. I already got them in and they are great! (cant find a link from my phone), but they are already in a housing with a switch. Down side is that they are converted to 120 VAC so I think there is some (a lot?) of loss if you are inverting from DC to AC, then bac down to DC again. Could probably hack into them and make them a lot more efficient.

Looking forward to your continued progress.Quixote Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15805412500867597343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-22063562264233235062011-05-08T11:06:36.395-05:002011-05-08T11:06:36.395-05:00TurdTurdAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-63528689675404159662011-05-08T10:26:32.495-05:002011-05-08T10:26:32.495-05:00Well, it's either 1) a dung beetle's nest ...Well, it's either 1) a dung beetle's nest as Jim said right out of the gate on the first post or 2) a rare (& very valuable) example of a petrified malted milk ball.

But I'll guess the former, since pterodactyls native to the Chihuahuan desert were not known for their fondness for Hershey's Whoppers.(Most paleontologists agree they preferred Nestle Raisinets.)leilanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00491913174028325392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-41685208583794165022011-05-08T08:58:21.565-05:002011-05-08T08:58:21.565-05:00Gavin, In Plano Texas it seemed that no bugs could...Gavin, In Plano Texas it seemed that no bugs could see the LEDs and they didn't attract bugs. I'm not sure if it's true but bugs are not supposed to be attracted to LED lights as they do not give off the IR and UV light frequencies which bugs sense. Not sure if it's true but LED's are a good choice in a low power setup.Gavin Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08277854122024847379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-26128014680995442182011-05-07T21:56:09.679-05:002011-05-07T21:56:09.679-05:00maybe a piece of slag that has rusted a little bit...maybe a piece of slag that has rusted a little bit.rocking R rusticshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15173461420385700988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-48022141233388557632011-05-07T21:54:05.513-05:002011-05-07T21:54:05.513-05:00a bead?a bead?rocking R rusticshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15173461420385700988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-59239781799327820872011-05-07T21:43:19.591-05:002011-05-07T21:43:19.591-05:00It is a bug nest of some kind.It is a bug nest of some kind.JLPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10564726068750016010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-14074158225505288592011-05-07T21:41:50.934-05:002011-05-07T21:41:50.934-05:00Something manufactured by an insect.Something manufactured by an insect.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16715576391052873257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-81223324372530735142011-05-07T21:27:07.063-05:002011-05-07T21:27:07.063-05:00Could it be from a dung beetle?Could it be from a dung beetle?Jimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12853322304365862928noreply@blogger.com
