The Tribulation

Is the end near?  Yesterday is gone - today is all we have - tomorrow is never guaranteed.  Having studied the Bible this past year while watching how our society and the world in general is growing darker and darker...there is no time like today to start getting ready.  My friend Melanie felt compelled to post this message a couple of days ago - like many, she sees the darkness growing and I think this scripture compliments her message.  1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease , and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate , even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Brainwashing is a powerful and insidious thing. Unfortunately, education is not a guarantee against it.

Regarding the cute young lady with the imminent apocalyptic prediction–I'm curious as to the source of her information. Could you (or she) enlighten the doomed? Did somebody relay this information to her, or did she hear voices that told her of our impending doom? Is she a gun owner?

Now that the Breaking Bad series is over...study the Bible and give this a try. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTmZHDb_sP8&feature=c4-overview-vl&list=PL084111B167E3ABB1

John, I watched the first few minutes, then scanned the rest of the 1:53 propaganda movie. It would appear that the self-appointed fundamentalists are the ones making the predictions. I'm greatly relived that your friend isn't hearing voices.

You might do well to read this. It's a well researched presentation of the rise of the church and it's teachings. It might help to dispel some of the myths surrounding such church-driven dogma.

With all due respect to your friend Melanie who seems earnest and well-intentioned, this video offers a window into the constricted, frightening world of the hyperventilating, misinformed people who support the current crop of Republican loonies who are about to do REAL damage to people's lives in America. Glen Beck and his ilk and billionaires without conscience have found and fed a rich vein of crazy in the American electorate and they are using it to enrich themselves.
People in Europe are looking at this country with an amused fascination, wondering just how low we can go.
We are seeing everywhere the real consequences of lowered support for high educational standards and a distrust of Science and fact-based inquiry. THAT'S the Apocalypse, and it's REAL.

Hi, just to clear up some things, I'm not ignorant, nor do I hear voices, nor am I brainwashed, and I'm not a "Republican", (btw, such labels are obsolete. Republicans and democrats all have the same NWO agenda. I trust the Gospel and The Bible. It's that simple. :)

The concept of the rapture, in connection with premillennialism, was expressed by the 17th-century American Puritan father and son Increase and Cotton Mather. They held to the idea that believers would be caught up in the air, followed by judgments on the Earth, and then the millennium.

I'm a direct descendent of Cotton and Increase Mather (Mayflower Society). I've read several of their published works including "The Wonders of the Invisible World. Observations as Well Historical as Theological, upon the Nature, the Number, and the Operations of the Devils" (1693). That work marks the pinnacle of the Salem Witch Trials, largely fueled by the teachings of Cotton and his son, Increase.

Taken as a whole, it's a special kind of crazy perpetuated by the "believers" in this world with ready access to the Internet and the impressionable. Scary stuff, indeed!

I don't brag about my lineage because I find it irrelevant and boring. Sorry for the bluntness, but pedigrees are like rear ends; everyone's got one. I'm a child of God whose name is written in the book. My message is based on something you fail to mention: Scripture. The YouTube video I reference above is a very concise, detailed presentation of Scripture reinforcing my warning to unbelievers, scoffers & mockers.

Guns, politics, religion, name calling, finger pointing, all in one conversation! That's what I'm talking about, an adult conversation. You rock!

Melanie: frankly, I didn't point out my descendancy for any other reason than to point out that I don't harbor blind faith in the goodness of the Mather's deeds or words. I'm not proud of what they did. Although they gained some notoriety in their day, they were indirectly responsible for many, many deaths due to their beliefs, which people blindly followed. I guess my point is that just because you heard it or read it, doesn't necessarily make it true. You seem to be okay with your faith. That's fine, I'm happy that you have something in your life that makes you happy. The majority of us (not necessarily those who read this blog) don't believe in the rapture, or any of the teachings set forth in the Bible. Personally, I see all the death and destruction that has been done in the name of religion from the Crusades on down to the atrocity of 9/11. I don't see any good that comes out of it. My belief is that science trumps religion – it's based in fact verified by repeatable testing and analysis. But to each his own, right?

Steve, I agree with you up to a point. When "believers" start indoctrinating children, IMHO that's child abuse.

J: may I be so brash as to say "Amen?"

And also to you.

Melanie, I certainly hope you're not left feeling bad about any of the comments- clearly you care deeply about people and you want to help them avoid a terrible fate. That comes through clearly in your video. Thank you for your kindness. As the Reverend says, don't worry about it.

I wish they would just get it done, I'm tired of hearing about the apocolypse.

My thinking is that the finer points of what people preach is more or less water under the bridge. Meaning, that whether or not one believes in some specifics regarding this or that is not really the point. I do however believe that from mere observation of nature, reading the bible, and deep contemplation that some irrefutable truths do exist, and that the present oligarchs are doing their best to make people believe that these truths do not exist. When you put a jigsaw puzzle together or do some work with pipe, or almost anything you see that the truth is that male fits female. Now, we have media and government who tell us that with humans, this is different, that male fits male and female fits female, etc. It is self evident that this behavior, without aid of science or adoption leads to abnormal things, much less the fact that this has only become mainstream thought in the last few years. This is but one example of many of how using some simple tools of human control (which prey upon some weaknesses in humans) first discovered in modern times by Freud and furthered by Bernays, you will find much of modern society including much of the basis for modern advertising and marketing is in fact brainwashing. You will also find that it causes people to give in to weakness and put themselves at the mercy of others in pursuit of worldly possesions. You will also notice that the international banking cabal seeks no less than to enslave mankind who is constantly told they are 'free' while not being given the tools to see the method of their bondage. So take what you will of that. But the bible contains the truth, and if one is willing to humble themselves before god, and admit they are sinful, unclean, and human, they are freed from the chains. Yes, to understand it all, if one is so inclined will take time, study, diligence and an open mind. But if you are of the opinion the government and all of their industrial complexes are here for your benefit, and seek to enlighten you, you really can blame only yourself for believing in the free lunch. Those who in the end show up for their free lunch stand to be at minimum treated like cattle on a farm, and at worst are going to be served as the meal. Much of this is self-evident. It is sad the extend that media has grabbed hold of some folks without a internal compass, which is best provided by an upbringing that is focused on morality, and yes, religion. Good luck all, it is not too late to repent.

Well then...I hope it hurry's up and happens already. What I wouldn't give to be sipping my morning coffee and instead of the usual sky, see Jesus riding down out of heaven to get the show going. I'm not afraid and open to seeing whatever unfolds.
