1. - commerce - and jobs... that help folks pay for their families and needs... as opposed to a dusty ghost town.
2. - roads - I see public roads - paid for with taxes and obtain by taking land from other private property owners.
in the world -we are one of the most powerful economies in the world - in part - BECAUSE - we have one of the most robust commerce infrastructure networks - in the world.
those job-producing boxes got there by rail and road.. not donkey cart.
"On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, The emblem of suff’ring and shame; And I love that old cross where the Dearest and Best For a world of lost sinners was slain. Refrain: So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it someday for a crown." The Old Rugged Cross George Bennard 1913
I think it is wonderful that the American Oil & Natural Gas Industry has found out how to squeeze more oil & gas out of their "DEPLETED OIL PROPERTIES" - all on private property. And this has been done in the face of considerable opposition from the Obama government forces - with no major increases from federal lands. This has made us NO 1 in natural gas production in the World. And in a few more years they are predicting - America will lead the world in oil production. This means we are not so dependent on the unstable Middle East oil producing states and can retain more of our wealth in America - rather than spending it on high priced energy. American industry has come thru again - and if you like the current price of fuel for your car or truck - those are the people to thank! They did it - and OBAMA can not claim any credit on this one.
