oops...
Looks like I have another DIY repair to do. Good thing YouTube has a how to for just about everything. 80,97,68,T,W
"Opps" is right. I did a similar job on my 17" Hewlett Packard computer screen. Dealer said it costs half the cost of the whole computer to replace? My cracked screen will have to get much worse - before I do that!
'Tis a delicate operation, fraught with snafu's, doable with excellent close-up vision, delicate hands, a clean environment and no possibility that more than just the screen was damaged. Might be best to buy a new one and forgo the repair.
Reminds me of my reading glasses that my puppies got ahold of. Got new unmatched bows. But for $600.00, I am hoping to make it several more months until I get checked again. Nothing is ever perfect. Works for me now. :-) People look at my glasses but don't know quite what is wrong.
After repairing it you should look into a protective case. I've always used the Otterbox brand with my phones. They are a little expensive, but not near as expensive as a repair or replacement.
Will you be changing just the screen or will you also do a polarity swap and give it a new name...that seems to be the rage in the social media world this week.
I keep my electronics in cases and up higher and in another room for charging on a surge protector and when I am not around. So far so good. I need to use an eye glass case though. Good thought. I have a new UPS man and I caught him yesterday when my new Apple product came unlike the last man who threw the product at my dogs who chewed it up outside.
My sister got a new female chocolate lab pup a few years ago. Within a year it turned almost everything she owned into mulch. That's why I call her Mulchie. She gets mad when I call the dog Mulchie, I spent more time with her when she was a pup and answers to it.She's my younger sister and still works and I'm semi retired so I did quite a bit of dogs sitting.Never mulched anything over here...

ReplyDeleteHope you've got a good viewing for the moonrise tonight!
ReplyDeleteThese computers are fantastic for sharing knowledge. Also a big help to those of us who can't remember what we used to know.

Remember when you could take things to the corner fix-it shop?
ReplyDelete(Hint: It was about the same era when the doctor would come to your house.)
