Home delivery of grocery store items was popular - over 70 years ago in Tomball, Texas. Just proves that good ideas never really die forever. I was too young to drive the delivery van - both not too young to move the groceries from the delivery van to purchaser's home.
Years ago I ordered some good food and drugstore items online. I very rarely shop in stores for clothing items anymore--all online from one company - Landsend.
Once you spend the $99.99 Amazon Prime is a great deal. But I have form joining for fear of buying a lot of junk I don't really need. My daughter buys 50 lbs bags of dogfood via Prime and says it saves her lugging them in form the trunk of her car.
Amazon Prime is a godsend, especially for anyone who is physically unable to get out. Once you add up the benefits and the unmatched customer service, it's a no brainer to pay the $99 per year!
Tried to order once through pantry but most items can't be sent to a PO Box, even ones that aren't perishable and can be ordered through "regular" Amazon. I need to find Manny one day and tell him where I am!
Good idea. That's likely the fastest and least expensive way to get less common food items out there. Extra bonus is that it's delivered to you!
ReplyDeleteSon lives in Dallas. 2 hour delivery with prime. Quicker than going to the store.
ReplyDeleteYum ... what time is dinner?
ReplyDeleteA few treats for the sweet tooth and a side of rice, lol works for me.
ReplyDeleteFrom reading the other comments going on-line to Amazon and having your food delivered to you doesn't strike anyone but me as a little bit odd?
ReplyDeleteThe world changes I guess ... or maybe ordering your groceries & having them delivered is a normal thing that I have never seen before?
Something new for me!
The guy in long term care across the hall from my brother uses peapod.
ReplyDeleteFred was interested in the large delivery! Maybe now he will get online.

TY Grinder about Prime and dog food. I still get the lugging exercise. The prices at the warehouse (SAMs or Costco) are so much lower.
