Most pilots don't even bother because they like to fly low and slow and a reserve is useless below 500' and they are already flying a parachute that has an infinitesimally small equipment failure rate. Most reserves that end up being used are by paraglider pilots (no motor) who are soaring thousands of feet up in turbulent conditions or doing crazy acro maneuvers. Bottom line: Don't fly like a knucklehead and you won't need a reserve.John Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12783305402239706779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-81419802283764344372016-10-26T16:51:15.472-05:002016-10-26T16:51:15.472-05:00Money well spent...

I actually ordered a plan for a ppg trike off ebay just to get some ideas and you would be surprised how flimsy it is. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/291789893777?John Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12783305402239706779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-55646794322825994492016-10-26T14:06:03.502-05:002016-10-26T14:06:03.502-05:00I guess you could always gusset the welds for an a...I guess you could always gusset the welds for an added measure of safety, or add a BRS if it'll accommodate the additional weight.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15704809336366622188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-75668040948086564242016-10-26T13:44:21.777-05:002016-10-26T13:44:21.777-05:00Will you be using any method to test the welds oth...Will you be using any method to test the welds other than visual?Dalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00931051133262635879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-91072801900682026932016-10-25T19:54:36.270-05:002016-10-25T19:54:36.270-05:00Since I am building this from scratch, I ordered s...Since I am building this from scratch, I ordered some extra parts to practice my welding on and to figure out what will work best. What you see in this photo weighs 47 pounds. The goal is 45 pounds including the wheels and axles when I am finished. My instructor weighed 50 pounds more than me and flew my rig no problem.John Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12783305402239706779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-62285387537441508432016-10-25T19:23:26.889-05:002016-10-25T19:23:26.889-05:00Looks kinda heavyLooks kinda heavyStevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15704809336366622188noreply@blogger.com
