I've been interested in alternative energy and housing for years and it caught my attention. $600 a square foot won't bode well for future business for sure but a interesting use of the technology. If they could get the price point down it might fly but yeah I wouldn't bet money on them staying in business long.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16423443874680943369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-52962260318967835022021-09-21T09:08:16.836-05:002021-09-21T09:08:16.836-05:00Was it the new video about Mighty Buildings by Kir...Was it the new video about Mighty Buildings by Kirsten Dirksen? If so - I saw it too and left this comment on the video: "3D printed homes are far from going mainstream and being economical. While they state the house is printed in 24 hours - they don't give any additional information on how long it actually takes for the completely finished product to leave the factory. From their website: Only available in California and their smallest model at 350 sq ft costs $204,000. That is nearly $600 per square foot. No mention how much the price will fall "as builds ramp-up". Traditional construction runs about $100 - $150 per square foot, depending on region. I seriously doubt this company can drop the price by 75% to meet that mark. It will be interesting to see if they are even still in business 5 years from now."John Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12783305402239706779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6120586935905234915.post-12656443432524942562021-09-21T05:24:29.267-05:002021-09-21T05:24:29.267-05:003d printing is pretty amazing.
