jack'n'hal

One short visit from new friends...quite a few longhorns...a little bit of painting...a lot of wind. I was really banking on a rainstorm tonight but the 80% chance we had turned into 30% and ended up being 0%. Here is Carmella with her black calf Jack...the brown one isn't hers but his name is Hal. They are named after two great kids I knew in Brooklyn since they were infants but haven't seen in 10 years. I even changed Jack's diaper once ( that was quite a load for such a little kid) when I was left to baby sit while Paula (mom) was giving birth to Hal. Tempus Fugit...

    A little friendly Texas advice, JW. Lose the crocs. Them ain't manly. hahaha. J/K Whatever floats your boat, but I wouldn't be caught dead with those on.

    Well, the crocs make good shower shoes, but I have to agree, not the best footwear for the terrain.

    Glad to hear about the G9. Did Canon send you any technical notes on what was repaired and how much it would have cost if you were not in warranty? This information will probably be in the box when you get it. Just curious.

    I'll try to pick up a G10 this week, got the cash and the coupons saved up. Looking forward to getting back into photography. The iPhone is great for street-level grab shots (my background is in photojournalism), but it's not good for landscape. I'll probably start up some sort of focused photo blog when I do, and I'm going to put some iPhone shots on my Ironic Mac blog, as examples.

    Looks like you don't really need any dogs--you've got a Longhorn Pack going there!

    That is just a great shot of the longhorns. The long view of the Field Lab and the surrounding mountains in the background puts it all into perspective. I really like it. Don't give up the crocks! They are so handy. I love mine.

    Those are not crocs. They are Holey Soles, much better then Crocs and a darn good choice for outdoor living, but don't step on those grass spur things. It takes days to pull them all out.
