Oh, ya know the lack of trees/wood on your land would probably account for the lack of large bonfires. Grilled cowpie chicken?

A quick spray of high heat flat black paint (BBQ paint) helps to absorb and heat shiny surfaces quicker. We learned that when our Boy Scout troop experimented with a reflective oven.
