First big blooms on a squash plant today - started from seed 7 weeks ago. Started prepping more planting tubs. These things are next to impossible to separate by hand. Tried drilling a little hole in the bottom of each one - applied some compressed air - and POP! 73,80,52,0,W
If your squash goes like mine did last year, you'll be up to your ears in it in no time.
ReplyDeleteYou might think about dehydrating some of it. It rehydrates wonderfully and given your local, it'd be an easy thing to do.
The tubs had molasses cow feed in them. That is why they are so hard to pull apart.
ReplyDeleteYou needed a drain hole anyway
ReplyDeleteSquash blossoms are delicious and have a really neat, crunchy texture. Eat them in a salad or grill them for a few seconds (literally, maybe 5 seconds).
ReplyDeleteu a smart guy John
ReplyDeleteMy brother-in-law in the plastics industry says PVC fails explosively. So be careful!
ReplyDeleteSquash, yum.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to get those tubs apart. Good thing you had the compressed air.
