gutter upgrade
After 5 1/2 years it was finally time for some hut maintenance. Replaced the original PVC gutter with metal. The unpainted PVC downspout is still holding up well considering the UV beating it has taken. 87,100,63,0,B,.19
I guess we'll take you're word for it that it was needed. Looks just fine otherwise. Some of that wood looks a little more questionable than the pvc, but i'm not a carpenter.
Congrats on having a gutter upgrade! 5 1/2 years seem to be a long time, and I believe it is due time to have them replaced. How are your new gutters now? I hope they work out really fine. Just make sure to clean them regularly to prolong their lifespan. Thanks for sharing!
What type of gutter did you use before? Was it made of steel? Normally, steel gutters are good for about five years before they start to rust. There are other types of gutters that last longer than that, so I hope that you've got a better one. Aside from the quality, maintenance is also the key, so make sure that you give it the proper care it deserves.
Kate’s right. 5 ½ years is somewhat a bit long, at least for a gutter. So how would you know when it’s time to replace your gutter? Do a visual inspection of your gutters every now and then. Is the paint already peeling off your gutters? Check for signs of minimal or extensive damage around your gutters. If there’s any present, you might want to consider calling a professional to put a new one in place.

ReplyDeleteMy dad installed the pvc gutters on our house...they didn't work, not deep enough.
