Looks pretty efficient. Also looks like it doesn't smoke much, but perhaps that would vary depending on the fuel. Maybe keeping the heat from spreading outward consumes the smoke. (Maybe I don't know much about rocket stove theory). Coals in insulating ash will stay live (and dangerous) for more than a day- wonder if the stove would work as a slow cooker with just coals.
