hash

My chickens aren't sure what to make of a tarantula.  
Field Lab Friend Jim Shirey popped in for a visit today.  After seeing a photo I did a couple of months ago of corned beef hash and eggs - he tried it.  He wasn't sure what to make of it.  I forgot to warn folks that it looks and smells kinda like canned dog food.  He brought me a can  -  probably bought two but after trying one, decided to give the other one away.  By the way...if you try this brand - DON'T ADD SALT to your dish.  Each can has 108% of the adult daily requirement of sodium.  65,77,47,0,B,0

    don't know how you feel about fat content - but once I looked at the fat content of corned beef hash - I was SHOCKED. It's got one whole day worth of FAT in it before you ever add the eggs!

    It's not haute cuisine but it's nice to have a couple of cans on the shelf for when you don't feel like putting a lot of effort into a meal.

    What kind of chicken doesn't take out any kind of creeping critter in a heartbeat, even a tarantula. When I was little we would run all kinds of creepy crawlers through the coop, nothing ever made it to the other side. Not even the lizards.

    Never seen a tin of corned beef hash before, I have never seen a tarantula either, I must have lived a very sheltered life.

    don't get me wrong on corned beef hash.. I LOVE IT !!!

    and yes I also keep a couple cans on hand..along with spam, vienna sausages and potted ham...

    Personally, I'm a Roast Beef Hash kind of guy. Either way, I think you can afford a day or two every once in a while that takes you way over one level or another. You need to put on some insulation for the Winter anyway.

    You can eat the tarantula. 100% protein, have to remove the spikes in front and deep fry!
    Has a crab taste to them.
