The Science Channel

Tune in tomorrow morning - check the local listings for your time zone.  British documentary series shot almost 2 years ago.  The host of the show - Ben Fogle - is who my Ben is named after.  In the spirit of good ol' reality TV production, they never once showed baby Ben but they HAD to show us cutting the head off his dead momma.  99,104,73,0,B

  8. I saw the show earlier today (Sunday, June 15, 2014) and was fascinated and intrigued about how you have sustained a living off the grid. I was fascinated about your greenhouse and water catchment system, awesome set-up. I'm hoping to catch rerun of the show because I was busy doing my daily chores and only caught bits & pieces of the show. Just found your blog and looks like I have a lot of reading to catch up on. Thanks for sharing your experience!

  11. Sherri, Thanks for suggestion, that's my plan! I started from the beginning and the next thing I know I'm side tracked researching John's Pepino Swap Cooler design/projects. It's going to take me awhile to read all John's posts if I keep getting side tracked on his field experiments. Your right it's fascinating read!

  12. HA, Rick! Welcome to my world! I kept opening new tabs for everything he mentioned and soon I found I was doing more research than reading. I had to stop that. Then Chrome crashed and I lost all those tabs I had opened :-( Dems da brakes. Enjoy!

  13. Heads up to all fans who missed the Science Channel - Where the Wild Men Are Texas. The show will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 6:00 PM. As John mentioned in his post you need to check your local listings for your time zone. Three other series of the show will be on prior to the Texas show with John. My listings indicate Australia @ 3:00 PM, Alaska @ 4:00 PM, New Zealand @ 5:00 PM, and the one I liked the most Texas @ 6:00 PM. I'm looking forward to seeing the show myself!

  16. They did a piss-poor job on their map going into the episode. It was pictured on the border between NM and Texas, about 300 miles away from El Paso. Bit better withe second map, though.
