good news/bad news



I finally caught "a" raccoon early this morning.  Upon examining the game cam footage - it appears that the one I just caught is not the same one that I missed the day before.  (Note the end of the tails.) Now that I know that I can do it, I will give it another couple of tries before I just go ahead and seal up the spot where they enter.  Of course I could have done that in the first place but that would have taken all the fun out of the hunt.  83,93,61,0,B

    Was taking the trash out halfway down the mountain at my girlfriend's house in Costa Rica just before daylight one morning. Central collection point sort of in the woods,like a small chain link
    dog pen.I opened the gate and was about to pitch in the bags when a pizote jumps out of the middle of the pile about 3 feet in the air. Me and the pizote took off in different directions about the same speed as that coon...

    You had to give it a real good shake before it came out. Heck who wants to leave a 24 hour diner in the desert?

    Maybe that was Mrs. Chunky?

    Linda, John did relocate it - hooray! This time of year Mr. Coon should be able to find plenty to eat. They are smart buggers. Funny, I was just reading a story in the NYTimes about a political tradition in the state of Arkansas: a fried coon supper that politicos *must* attend to be accepted. Plus pose with a piece of fried coon. Ick.

    I suspect "Chunky" might make pretty good eating - if properly prepared. After all - he been dining on the same food - fed to John's longhorn cattle. Raw oysters look almost inedible - but they are delicious - with the proper condiments (lemon & horseradish sauce).
