DIY wood stove 2
Scavenged another tank for a wrap around door. Leg parts ready for cutting and welding. 45,58,33,0,B
Larry: I have been burning mine for 2 years now and I notice no real problem. Leaving a small layer of ash in the bottom is enough to protect it. I also have a home made 55 gal barrel stove made with a Vogelzang kit in my shop, and I have had a layer of sand in the bottom, and that has held out just fine for 10 years. http://vogelzang.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59_105
CDV- canine distemper virus. If a wild cat (mt. Lion, Cougar, etc.) eats a dog with distemper and gets it (zombi cat) or a possum or other critter gets it, they lose their fear of humans and behave strangely even eating humans. It is a problem worldwide now and even in Texas.

Are you going to be able to use the stove pipe and maybe some of the other parts off the stove you ordered?

ReplyDeleteI know propane tanks are tough in terms of withstanding pressure - but are they also heat-tempered so the metal does not weaken when heated?

having a way to get ashes out it while it''s operating would also be a plus.
