Fog bow
A Fog bow is a similar phenomenon to a rainbow; however, as its name suggests, it appears as a bow in fog rather than rain. Because of the very small size of water droplets that cause fog—smaller than 0.05 millimeters (0.0020 in)—the fog bow has only very weak colors, with a red outer edge and bluish inner edge. 54,67,59,0,W

ReplyDeleteA fog bow. Imagine. I saw them in Juneau, Alaska. I thought it was an almost rainbow. In Juneau there were walking trails around the wooded mountains, near the inlet ocean, by the glacier, by the moss covered rain-forrest woods, and wood bridges over the streams and small rivers by the small mountain waterfalls. There was rain, mist, semi sunshine, and fog swirling around the mountain peaks and hence - fog bows. The air was so fresh. But until now I did not know what they were. I thought it was a lame rainbow.
