  1. Yep, Sam, you always seem to be so in tune. I was getting so overwhelmed with the 102 heat outside today.

  2. Yet when I was 18, I could iron inside with no air conditioning or fan and closed windows and not perspire and think nothing of it.

  3. Oh, it was 107 degrees then in San Angelo, TX, during a record breaking heat wave in the 1950's.

  4. Now there is a slight breeze outside and it is very pleasant to sit outside-going down to 70 plus.

  5. Hope you're not in shock, Sam.

  6. Us Michiganders aren't used to such big numbers ... unless we're measuring inches of snow.

  8. Ok ... so Texas wins the BTU count, but with an average snowfall of 150 inches clearly Michigan is flaky-er.

  9. Michi-ganders -- It sounds like some kind of male goose.

  10. Some Michi-ganders are snowbirds.

  11. Yes, we have spotted Michiganders flocking here to Texas around October/November. They are pretty rare right now with all this heat. I would imagine John never sees them around Alpine.

  12. The constantly blinking left turn signal makes them easy to spot.

  13. Of course, one could also ask how in the world does ANY place in Texas get named - "Alpine"!

  14. Ha, ha-yes ,going around the world to the left. Seriously,
they are all over the Chihiahuan area. That's when all the young people come back and open up their shops and pretend they are from there. I know, because time and again, I parked my car at the end of Sept. and went to a shop and it was locked. Wusses wern't back yet. Also, o reading material there except paperback old westerns at the P.O. There was AA.
