Trumped?

Is he lying about his faith, or just one of the frozen chosen?

  1. Some years ago, I was invited and joined one of his wealth management associations. I was very impressed with the good opportunities his association offered to anyone. I have nothing bad to say about him.

  2. I can't remember another candidate ever being asked that question. The book of Job is my favorite, I have no favorate verse. I wonder if HRC or Bernie will be quized in kind?

  3. By the way who are we to judge?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Of course he is lying. Trump is not a man that has deep set Christan values, despite what he wants you to believe. My God, you can't honestly sit there with a straight face and tell me he hasn't screwed over his brothers and sisters of all faiths in the name of making a buck. This guy is a joke.

  5. yes, who are we to judge? And - does anyone think - other than Trump that the other
candidates have not already thought up the preconceived answer they'd give and want you to believe? Trump speaks off the cuff.. he has no such script. Is that a plus or a minus?

It's a little bit of a "gotcha" type issue coming from those who want religion to be an issue.

Always shocked me that in a Pew Poll - higher percentages of evangelical Christians supported torture than other Christians and non-Christians.

Sure looks like John does not let the remote, off-the-grid life keep him from closely following issues, eh?

    ;-)

  6. I think Trump realizes that religion / faith is his Achilles' heel. That's why he and Mr. Cruz are buddying up.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I don't think Trump is an evangelical. He's probably not much different than most of the candidates - none of who do I know is a regular church goer.

perhaps that's something the church goers should find out instead of focusing just on Trump.

of the candidates - which ones are "saved" and go to Church regularly?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Anyway, church and state are supposed to be separate now in this country.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Trump should have responded with:

    Matthew 7:1-3

Judge Not - Lest Ye Be Judged!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Religion??? Don't ask, don't tell. Let deeds show who and what you are.

  11. Frank Bruni of the New York Times talks about Trump's faith and whether it is, or should be, germane to voters.

  12. I believe Trump is a born again Christian. Whether he is a Bible Thumping Christian, Attends Church Regularly, or preaches the Gospel means nothing to me as long as he believes in Christ and will support the Religious freedom of all Christians and stop the persecution that Obama is pushing and allowing to happen here in our own Country and across the world. It is not up to me to challenge his beliefs. That is between him and God.

    ReplyDelete
  13. In other words Rondeb, you don't care that Trumps heart is full of hate, greed, wrath, pride (4 of the 7 sins, not bad) and a light coating of BS sprinkled on top, as long as he says he loves GOD he is OK with you. Pathetic. Take it from the younger generation, your way of thinking is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Correction, hate is part of wrath, so he only has 3 of the 7 deadly sins, although, based on his martial history, I will assume we can throw lust in there as well.

    ReplyDelete
  15. "It is not up to me to challenge his beliefs. That is between him and God. " - Do you apply that statement to everyone or just those that share your beliefs? Practice what you preach.

    ReplyDelete
  16. How do you know what is in Trump's heart? I sure don't. And yes, his belief is between him and God. I do apply that statement to everyone. And I have no idea what you mean when you tell me to practice what I preach. As far as I know I have lived a life of where I do practice to the best of my ability my Christian beliefs. I don't know what your problem is, but go attack someone else. I will not cast a stone at Trump, that is not my right to do so as we are all sinners.

    ReplyDelete
  17. How do you know what is in Trump's heart? Actions speak louder than words.

"I do apply that statement to everyone." - Even Obama, LGBT, and Muslims?

    ReplyDelete
  18. And I apologize for coming across so harsh, I agree, I could have gone about that better.

    ReplyDelete
  19. what has Trump do to make people think he is a man of faith are Republicans so clueless they just assume that their candidates are Fundamentalist Christians?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Trump is the one that is saying deport everyone. My question is does that line up with the folks who are saying they are Christians and want someone who is a Christian?

    ReplyDelete
  21. It is exceedingly odd that Trump is polling higher among evangelical Christians than is Mike Huckabee. Why is that?

Larry G, I have a sister-in-law who is really into church, "praising God", etc...but you should see the stuff she posts on FB deriding the immigrants rushing over our borders to the "land of the free". I'm pretty sure she wouldn't give a darn if those people were trying to save their own or their childrens' lives, or whether they are hungry or sick. The "illegals" seem to be a class of people that blind Christians to the tenets of Jesus Christ. And all of the GOP candidates are trying to benefit from that terrible spirit. Shame on them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Which is worse- a heathen that pretends to believe in God, or a heathen who doesn't?
It's my opinion that most , if not all politicians are sociopaths and are incapable of a relationship with the Creator. Voting for one because he (she) claims to honor God is a fools errand, it seems to me.

  23. Isaiah 5:20King James Version (KJV)

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

    ReplyDelete
  24. And shame on all those bleeding heart liberals who believe it is O.K. for millions of people TO IGNORE OUR EXISTING AMERICAN LAWS - on how to legally immigrate into the United States of America. Presidential candidate, Donald Trump, is correct about needing stronger border defenses - and Chris Christie, had the best suggestion on how to keep track of illegal emigrants - so they could be deported when it is determined they have overstayed their welcome. IE. use modern American technology to keep track of them - so they can be identified & deported. Instead, the present American president, Obama, welcomes them as potential Democratic voters and welfare recipients - rather than deporting them - as his oath of office requires him to do! We need an American President that will observe and enforce our existing laws - not just ignore the laws he does not like!

    ReplyDelete
  25. So Ronald Mahan, speaking of ignoring laws, do you agree that Casey Davis from
Kentucky should be prosecuted for ignoring the law by not issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples?

    ReplyDelete
  26. J.C. - you sound like you want me to compare Apples with Oranges? I asked - if it is O. K. for the president to ignore our emigration laws? You changed from that subject - to the issue of same sex marriages. What I personally think about the brave Kim Davis will not make much difference - but I do wish her success in standing up for her religious beliefs. Those rights are also protected by our Constitution Bill of Rights. Why do the liberals want to trample all over our constitutional rights - before they are legally changed by either congress or a vote of American citizen? I. E., the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same sex marriages, but failed to address the issue of how to implement this - when challenged by our Religious Freedom Rights.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lol, just as I expected. You only want the laws enforced that fit your agenda.
Liberal = anyone who disagrees with your point. You crack me up man.

Also, you didn't ask anything, you made statement. And I do agree, we need better immigration enforcement.

As for your blatant hypocrisy, Kim works for the government, her pay checks come from the taxes of the people she serves. Her religion has no role in a government funded building providing government funded services. She deserves every thing coming her way.

    ReplyDelete
  28. What POTUS does or dosn't do effects hundreds of millions of people. LGBT are 2% of the population.

    ReplyDelete
  29. So screw the 2% since they aren't a majority group? What's your point?

    ReplyDelete
  30. ----- J.C., You requested my opinion on Kim Davis's legal problems - and I told you what I thought. For giving you an honest answer, you accused me of "BLATANT HYPOCRISY"! Why ask your questions - if you cannot accept an honest answer? I agree with Mr. James Price's comment - "civil society is dead!"

    ReplyDelete
  31. Um, I accept your answer for what it is, hypocritical.

You want one law enforced but not the other. Which is it, enforce the law or not?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wanting our immigration laws enforced and not allowing illegals into this country has absolutely nothing to do with whether one is a Christian or not. I have no problem with immigrants coming to this Country legally. There is a long list of requirements for someone to come to this country legally and they should be followed. I have no problem helping Countries that need help with their citizens, but that does not give them the right to sneak into this country for that help.

As far as the LGBT movement or Muslims as you asked above. I have no problem with anyones beliefs or life actions. What I don't want is those same people forcing their actions or beliefs on me. Some judge or some court can not tell me I must believe and do something that is against my religion. That is an unconstitutional law and NO ONE is required to follow an unconstitutional law or judges order. They do not have that power. Our Constitution overrides those decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Rondeb, but it does, in a way. If Trump and his followers had their way the US would deport all illegal immigrants ASAP. Many of those families would be homeless and without the means to survive. As a Christian, how do you reconcile that very likely outcome with the teachings of Christ?

I don't know about you, but I don't think Christ would be OK with tossing a family into a third world, drugged riddled nightmare to rot. Of course I could quote scripture at this point but I think you get my point. Your brothers and sisters down south are exactly that, your brothers and sisters.

  35. JC; show us scripture to back up your argument .

    ReplyDelete
  36. Lol, OK James, I am lying. There are no scriptures in the bile that talk about helping those in need, treating others as Christ would etc. I made it all up.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Jesus did not help brothers and sisters break the law .

    ReplyDelete
  38. So in your eyes Jesus would let them rot. Check.

Would you support a Christan immigration officer who says he cannot, in good conscience, deport a family back to an environment that fosters violence and corruption, and by doing so would put said family into harms way and would violate his religious beliefs?

    ReplyDelete
  39. They are criminals. They broke the law. You pay the price when you break the law. Maybe we shouldn't have laws, then it would be utopia!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  41. "Jesus did not help brothers and sisters break the law."

Correct, but Jesus would help brothers and sisters WHO broke the law. He is a forgiving man after all. See the difference?

    ReplyDelete
  42. You have to confess and repent of your sins to recieve forgiveness. Grace is given to those who truly believe.

    ReplyDelete
  43. So Kim Davis is a sinner for breaking the law. Check.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I suggest you read the bible yourself, then you will understand. You clearly don't get it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. James, I think it is you who clearly doesn't get it. Your Christen beliefs differ from other Christens, yet you all believe that your beliefs Trump the law of the land. How on Earth as a country are we supposed to unite when you all interpret the bible as you see fit? It just doesn't make sense.

Obey the law here but ignore it there, Jesus loves and apparently Jesus hates.

I propose a bracket style tug of war challenge between all the so called Christens. Winner takes all.

    ReplyDelete
  46. And you sidestepped my question Mr. Cruz. err...I mean James.

Would you support a Christan immigration officer who says he cannot, in good conscience, deport a family back to an environment that fosters violence and corruption, and by doing so would put said family into harms way and would violate his Christen beliefs?

Based on what you have said, you would support him because he is standing up for his Christen beliefs, but you would also condemn him because he broke the law. Sounds like you suffer from a major case of cognitive dissonance.

    ReplyDelete
  47. James 08/30 - "By the way who are we to judge?"
James 09/01 - "They are criminals. They broke the law."

James, who are you to judge?

    ReplyDelete
  48. So you think every illegal alien comes from such places? How arrogant and quick to judge.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Well lets see, they aren't flocking here from their McMansions along the coast. The majority come from third world countries.

And yes, I judge, absolutely. I am fallible. As are you, despite what you think. The difference is, I don't hide behind my faith. I a have the stones (or ovaries) to admit it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. We are a Country that has laws. Thousands of kids coming across our border that have designer shoes on and expensive clothes. Watch the videos. It doesn't matter why the illegals are pouring across our open borders, they do not belong here and must be returned. All illegals in this country should be send back to where they came from. Just because they have been allowed to stay here under this administration, does not make it legal. We have no responsibility to house, feed, clothe, give medical and education to these illegals. No one forced these people to come and they knew the risk when they came. Enforcing our laws is long past due in regards to the illegals in this Country.

    ReplyDelete
  51. "We are a Country that has laws."
Agreed. You also stated you don't have to follow those those same laws if YOU THINK they violate Gods law. You can't have it both ways Rondeb. Your Christen neighbor might not THINK the same laws are not being violated. How are we supposed to reconcile that as a country?

"Thousands of kids coming across our border that have designer shoes on and expensive clothes. Watch the videos."
Well that's issue #1. You believe everything you see in "the videos". I have lived in AZ my entire life. I went to school with many illegal immigrants. I have family that works in the public education system. If you honestly believe that the majority of this kids have designer clothes, you are sadly mistaken. In fact, most of these kids barely have a pot to piss in.

" It doesn't matter why the illegals are pouring across our open borders, they do not belong here..."
You wont cast a stone at Trump (as you stated above) but you have a handful of stones ready to cast at any one who didn't come here legally. I see now.

"Enforcing our laws is long past due in regards to the illegals in this Country." But not in regards to other laws.

You guys smell that? Smells like s steaming pile of BS.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Please. Are you Christians telling me that Jesus would not be helping these immigrants, rather than deporting them, building a wall, calling them rapists, whatever? You all need to go back and read your bibles some more. Truly. If you have a religious leader who is enforcing these non-Christian attitudes, she is a charlatan.

To the lady saying they come across wearing designer clothes: does that made-up image assuage your guilt in turning away from Jesus' teachings? My lord. Stop watching Fox news; go out and volunteer at a soup kitchen or help kids learn to read. Walk homeless dogs. Turn away from your hate.

Matthew 25:40 - And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Trump 20:140 - Verily I say unto you - deport their worthless butts...or our temples will be defiled...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Spot on pamit...when I read the posts of the "chistian talaban" it makes me sick.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Phildo, I'm not a Christian, but I play one on TV. Also studied it a lot when I was young, so I know some things about it. I am dead certain that Jesus would not want anything to do with people who talk like this:

"We have no responsibility to house, feed, clothe, give medical and education to these illegals. No one forced these people to come and they knew the risk when they came. Enforcing our laws is long past due in regards to the illegals in this Country. "

Thankfully, Jesus never turned away from a person in need - be they lepers, whores, or even rich men.

C'mon Christians, what say ye? Crickets...

    ReplyDelete
  56. .Jesus was a loving and wise man who walked the earth telling people without hope or means that all was not lost and if they lived a good life and helped others they would be rewarded in the afterl life.
After he died, the leaders of his movement slowly bastardized his teaching to insure his followers would do there bidding and allow them the power Jesus never sought.
Today this is all still going on with preachers who profess to have studied the bible telling us THEY know what Jesus said and ment.
But wait, Jesus did not preach to the scholars and Rabis, he spoke directly to the poor and uneducated. Why would he then cause his written words to be so complex as to require a scholar to tell you the meaning of what he said..
If you want to know what Jesus said go to the bible read it, The over whelming message from Jesus is to forgive others, help the poor and sick and turn the other cheek.
Now if you can't see that helping and welcoming poor immigrants is what Jesus would do I'll put it in a form like your preachers do,
Your acceptance of The Immigrants are The Lords test of your willingness to follow the words of Jesus and all who fail to welcome them will suffer the flames of hell for an eternity .

Oh and for those who said on this page that who were they to judge Donald Trumps religion, please remember that when discussing Hilary's emails server

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh and by the way, if you accept the immigrants because you don't want to go to hell, you are going to hell. Jesus did not teach loving others to save our souls but that Loving others was its own reward. Doing it to avoid hell is not an act of love but rather selfishness.
