Trumped?
Is he lying about his faith, or just one of the frozen chosen?
Some years ago, I was invited and joined one of his wealth management associations. I was very impressed with the good opportunities his association offered to anyone. I have nothing bad to say about him.
I can't remember another candidate ever being asked that question. The book of Job is my favorite, I have no favorate verse. I wonder if HRC or Bernie will be quized in kind?
Of course he is lying. Trump is not a man that has deep set Christan values, despite what he wants you to believe. My God, you can't honestly sit there with a straight face and tell me he hasn't screwed over his brothers and sisters of all faiths in the name of making a buck. This guy is a joke.
yes, who are we to judge? And - does anyone think - other than Trump that the other candidates have not already thought up the preconceived answer they'd give and want you to believe? Trump speaks off the cuff.. he has no such script. Is that a plus or a minus?
It's a little bit of a "gotcha" type issue coming from those who want religion to be an issue.
Always shocked me that in a Pew Poll - higher percentages of evangelical Christians supported torture than other Christians and non-Christians.

I believe Trump is a born again Christian. Whether he is a Bible Thumping Christian, Attends Church Regularly, or preaches the Gospel means nothing to me as long as he believes in Christ and will support the Religious freedom of all Christians and stop the persecution that Obama is pushing and allowing to happen here in our own Country and across the world. It is not up to me to challenge his beliefs. That is between him and God.
In other words Rondeb, you don't care that Trumps heart is full of hate, greed, wrath, pride (4 of the 7 sins, not bad) and a light coating of BS sprinkled on top, as long as he says he loves GOD he is OK with you. Trump is the one that is saying deport everyone. My question is does that line up with the folks who are saying they are Christians and want someone who is a Christian?
It is exceedingly odd that Trump is polling higher among evangelical Christians than is Mike Huckabee. Why is that?
Larry G, I have a sister-in-law who is really into church, "praising God", etc...but you should see the stuff she posts on FB deriding the immigrants rushing over our borders to the "land of the free". I'm pretty sure she wouldn't give a darn if those people were trying to save their own or their childrens' lives, or whether they are hungry or sick. The "illegals" seem to be a class of people that blind Christians to the tenets of Jesus Christ. And all of the GOP candidates are trying to benefit from that terrible spirit. Shame on them.
Which is worse- a heathen that pretends to believe in God, or a heathen who doesn't? It's my opinion that most , if not all politicians are sociopaths and are incapable of a relationship with the Creator. Voting for one because he (she) claims to honor God is a fools errand, it seems to me.

Presidential candidate, Donald Trump, is correct about needing stronger border defenses - and Chris Christie, had the best suggestion on how to keep track of illegal emigrants - so they could be deported when it is determined they have overstayed their welcome. IE. use modern American technology to keep track of them - so they can be identified & deported. Instead, the present American president, Obama, welcomes them as potential Democratic voters and welfare recipients - rather than deporting them - as his oath of office requires him to do! We need an American President that will observe and enforce our existing laws - not just ignore the laws he does not like!
So Ronald Mahan, speaking of ignoring laws, do you agree that Casey Davis from Kentucky should be prosecuted for ignoring the law by not issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples?

You changed from that subject - to the issue of same sex marriages. What I personally think about the brave Kim Davis will not make much difference - but I do wish her success in standing up for her religious beliefs. Those rights are also protected by our Constitution Bill of Rights. Why do the liberals want to trample all over our constitutional rights - before they are legally changed by either congress or a vote of American citizen? I. E., the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same sex marriages, but failed to address the issue of how to implement this - when challenged by our Religious Freedom Rights.

Wanting our immigration laws enforced and not allowing illegals into this country has absolutely nothing to do with whether one is a Christian or not. I have no problem with immigrants coming to this Country legally. There is a long list of requirements for someone to come to this country legally and they should be followed. I have no problem helping Countries that need help with their citizens, but that does not give them the right to sneak into this country for that help.
As far as the LGBT movement or Muslims as you asked above. I have no problem with anyones beliefs or life actions. What I don't want is those same people forcing their actions or beliefs on me. Some judge or some court can not tell me I must believe and do something that is against my religion. That is an unconstitutional law and NO ONE is required to follow an unconstitutional law or judges order. They do not have that power. Our Constitution overrides those decisions.

Just because they have been allowed to stay here under this administration, does not make it legal. We have no responsibility to house, feed, clothe, give medical and education to these illegals. Phildo, I'm not a Christian, but I play one on TV. Also studied it a lot when I was young, so I know some things about it. I am dead certain that Jesus would not want anything to do with people who talk like this:

.Jesus was a loving and wise man who walked the earth telling people without hope or means that all was not lost and if they lived a good life and helped others they would be rewarded in the afterl life. After he died, the leaders of his movement slowly bastardized his teaching to insure his followers would do there bidding and allow them the power Jesus never sought. Today this is all still going on with preachers who profess to have studied the bible telling us THEY know what Jesus said and ment. But wait, Jesus did not preach to the scholars and Rabis, he spoke directly to the poor and uneducated. Why would he then cause his written words to be so complex as to require a scholar to tell you the meaning of what he said.. If you want to know what Jesus said go to the bible read it, The over whelming message from Jesus is to forgive others, help the poor and sick and turn the other cheek. Now if you can't see that helping and welcoming poor immigrants is what Jesus would do I'll put it in a form like your preachers do, Your acceptance of The Immigrants are The Lords test of your willingness to follow the words of Jesus and all who fail to welcome them will suffer the flames of hell for an eternity .

I think Trump realizes that religion / faith is his Achilles' heel. That's why he and Mr. Cruz are buddying up.

What POTUS does or dosn't do effects hundreds of millions of people. LGBT are 2% of the population.

Please. Are you Christians telling me that Jesus would not be helping these immigrants, rather than deporting them, building a wall, calling them rapists, whatever? ReplyDeletePhildo, I'm not a Christian, but I play one on TV. Also studied it a lot when I was young, so I know some things about it. I am dead certain that Jesus would not want anything to do with people who talk like this:

ReplyDelete.Jesus was a loving and wise man who walked the earth telling people without hope or means that all was not lost and if they lived a good life and helped others they would be rewarded in the afterl life.
ReplyDeleteAfter he died, the leaders of his movement slowly bastardized his teaching to insure his followers would do there bidding and allow them the power Jesus never sought.
Today this is all still going on with preachers who profess to have studied the bible telling us THEY know what Jesus said and ment.
But wait, Jesus did not preach to the scholars and Rabis, he spoke directly to the poor and uneducated. Why would he then cause his written words to be so complex as to require a scholar to tell you the meaning of what he said..
If you want to know what Jesus said go to the bible read it, The over whelming message from Jesus is to forgive others, help the poor and sick and turn the other cheek.
Now if you can't see that helping and welcoming poor immigrants is what Jesus would do I'll put it in a form like your preachers do,
Your acceptance of The Immigrants are The Lords test of your willingness to follow the words of Jesus and all who fail to welcome them will suffer the flames of hell for an eternity .
Oh and for those who said on this page that who were they to judge Donald Trumps religion, please remember that when discussing Hilary's emails server
Oh and by the way, if you accept the immigrants because you don't want to go to hell, you are going to hell. Jesus did not teach loving others to save our souls but that Loving others was its own reward. Doing it to avoid hell is not an act of love but rather selfishness.
