  4. so THAT'S how off-the-grid works laundry-wise!

    ;-)

I thought you might have one of them solar-powered washers!

do you clothesline your wash to dry it?

  5. Larry G - in earlier posts - John showed us photos of his bicycle powered washing machine. However, with a recovering broken leg - he has plenty of reasons to use the commercial wash house facilities.

  6. I'm guessing this means the "Bike-O-Worsher" is still off limits?

  7. Yes, a solar powered small washing machine or maybe even an old fashioned wringer one would be nice.

  8. The laundromat in Terlingua might not be too safe at times when no one is about. I guess the picture you showed is from Alpine. A big man followed me in the laundromat in Terlingua when the town was empty. And then he left when I used the restroom. A little puzzling.

  9. There are so many people out there. Even the Ted Kazinski's brother built an underground get-away out there.

  10. Ted Kazinski's BROTHER recently built another larger cabin on the Kazinski property. Ted K. and my father were the first property owners to establish cabins in the Nine Points Mesa Valley - north of Jack Eden Mesa. I had also heard that tale of an "underground get-away" - but never believed it. This is said because the Kazinski property is very flat & does not drain well - and an underground structure would flood after a rainstorm. --------------------- And those early cabins were the first to be connected to the power line that was built to provide electricity. That was back in the good ole days - when RURAL ELECTRIFICATION costs were paid for by the American taxpayers. It should be noted this brother - turned Ted K. into the law to prevent him from harming more people (because he was mentally ill). The bother and his wife live in New York - but still visit the ranch on a regular basis. They are an intelligent and friendly couple - and good neighbors.
