night sky

Just beginning exploring the night skies.  Bought Adobe Lightroom to help me out a bit.  Big learning curve figuring out new software to get the perfect star time lapse.  I forgot how starry it is out here.  86,90,52, .07",B

  1. I'd say you get to see a lot of shooting stars.

  2. "He telleth the number of the stars;
    he calleth them all by their names."

  3. I found a small piece of a meteor in my yard a few years ago. I washed the black burn off of it and it was grey jagged metal. I found flintstone in my yard too. This used to be an Indian area. Canyon Lake, TX, is built over an Indian burial site so it must be true that there are bodies in the lake. And their spirits walk around the lake. In the book Hill Country, there was a massacre of German settlers near here by Indians around 1900. I saw the light pink space shuttle pass over my back yard about 5:30 p.m. On its way back to CA. I heard a loud grinding sound like a bus or truck and looked up and there it was. I was so thrilled since my dad worked on the space program in the 50's. Black people say our ancestors are in the stars looking down on us and taking care of us.

  4. A few years ago I used to lay on a reclining chair in the yard and look up at the stars and pick out the Big Dipper, but then Mexicans from San Antonio moved out here and thought that was odd so I built a fence.

  5. Sometimes in life when you have bodily injuries you spend so much mental time making sure your feet are securely fastened to the ground to make sure safety of one's self is planted to the earth. However, once life is a bit easier, we all need to look to the stars, moon and realize the beauty before us. Glad to hear you are now 'looking up'!

  7. Margery as long as it isn't offensive don't worry about what other people think. I refuse to live my short life by others measuring stick.

  8. That is so true Dale. TY. And as I get older I find that time whizzes by and seems even shorter. 😄

  9. Several men the other evening at a meeting were wondering about the purpose of life. My mind was blank. But now I remember. When I was younger I determined that the purpose of life is to keep it going in other words procreate. Also we need to contribute in a positive way and pass on what we know. One lady said she felt so useless now because of older age problems. But I said she can set a good example and inspire others and pointed out some ways she has done that.
