  2. Great video John hoping for good news about stress test.

  3. Did you get off with a warning? (1:45)

  4. Got nabbed in a speed trap just north of Ft. Stockton. 12 mph over the speed limit. $184. It could have been a lot worse...just got a warning for no seat belt. That would have been another $165.

  5. That the pre-stress test stress test. ;-)

  9. I'm not sure what anyone else sees when they play this video...but I get an ad for lung cancer risks from smoking at the beginning and links to Casey Neistat videos at the end...

  10. John ... In the beginning I get an ad for Direct TV. At the end I get Casey Neistat ads along with ads for The Field Lab ... also a few ads from some of the recent channels I've watched.

  11. Beautiful hotel room ... but I'd feel out of place in it.

  12. Sam...I always think about how much bigger hotel rooms are than my entire house. The bed in this room would take up half of the space I have.

  13. That'll do fine. I'm thinking of putting a 5x12 "house" on a pontoon boat. The pontoon deck is 8x18 so I'd have room for a front and back porch.

  14. be careful when you get that Boosted Board… you're a natural for the glasses. Odessa isn't quite NYC, but pretty good sunset.
$184 for a rolling stress test is a medical bargain…

  15. Yes, it is kind of tricky driving out there. The speeds are high and suddenly they drop down and who wants to slow down in open spaces with no traffic. Sorry about the ticket. Must always wear a seat belt. TY for the beautiful scenery. And also for the water inclusion on the plateau in the hotel. Luxury.

  16. Live and learn. Well I met my 4th Scandinavian here tonight in Texas. I am almost half Scandinavian I learned from DNA. Well will surprises never cease. I am still in awe. And I learned after my first blond child was born that blond is o.k. Yes, I am a good person one could trust and law abiding. (My daughter was so excited when we learned because she lived in a Scandinavian area in Michigan when she was young. But ignorant me told everyone I was pure English. :-) NOT close even).

  17. Well the Scandinavians up there gave me a place to live, money to attend college and a Bachelors degree and a nice place for my children. And for that I am grateful. My children have or had good jobs too, etc.

  18. So, I guess I should have had a clue when I was a child and I had a shade of red hair.

  19. What a luxury hotel! Hope you took advantage of all the amenities...including all the water you could use, but somehow I think not...

  20. Margery Bills, have you ever considered starting up your own blog?

  21. John, when will you know your results? Will you share them with us? I say, God has a plan for us and we are right where He wants us. In everything, I try to remember what I can be grateful for and to learn.

  22. I think a youtube first would be live stent surgery.

  23. I didn't get any ads at all(but I'm not signed into YouTube, I regularly delete their cookies & use an ad blocker). I did get links for Casey's channel at the end like everyone else, though.

Mighty disappointed you didn't show Odessa's giant jackrabbit. Apparently, the TX Historical Marker which accompanies it includes a cherished local recipe for Jackrabbit & Dumplings. (only in West TX, eh?)

Also, how about a more specific heads up to everyone about the speed trap? Was it about 22 miles north of Fort Stockton? If so, you should vote here or make your own entry:

  24. No...I got ticketed not long after I turned onto Hwy 18 heading north to Monahans. Gotta really watch the speed limit through there.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Monahan, huh! Maybe the police there should pay more attention to their traveling speed dope dealers who live there and who have visited here before our big drug bust recently with 4 agencies involved. Tell that to the police there if you ever spot one.

    ReplyDelete
  26. (Anyway, :-) , the seniors the Monahan dealer sold to at Canyon Lake are disbanded and no longer sit up at McDonalds dealing drugs. (Four of the men died, two moved to retirement places, the rest wander around). Yes, the drug problem is everywhere. The local medical clinic is more vigilant about giving out pain pills now. I think they hated me anyway (maybe not) but I have sheriff stickers on my cars.

  27. Years ago one of my parents friends choked on peanut butter and died. I thought that was hilarious when I heard it when I was young. But not any more. Our throats can narrow as we get older and oops. My father always told me to not wolf my food and to take small bites, eat slowly, and chew my food completely. Something to remember.
