Glad to see you got your share John. Those meals are o.k. I have one of breaded chicken in the freezer. Today I went to the nearby VFW which was full. I was only going to sample but ate everything. This was a good year. I met a lady my age there who was funny. But she had lost all her keys in the bathroom and was stuck. So I sat with her all afternoon and we laughed most of the time. (We were among other things talking about her volunteer job at the homeless shelter in San Antonio and various related traveling experiences - which a lot of people out here at the Lake do not know about because they are so into how important they are). When the older lady came to get the left over food for the food bank, I left and the two women sat together. ( The grandson was bringing an extra house key out from San Antonio.) The older lady from the food bank is still working and could barely walk now and now walks bent over in half. What courage. A young teenager who stays with his grandfather and volunteered in the kitchen played the piano for us so beautifully. He reminded me of a family member and for a second I missed the good old days. :-) (My retired Navy son serves food to the homeless on the holidays in CA). Holidays are sometimes difficult for me so I go to group dinners. I was so proud when I could say I had dinner with my parents but now they are gone.
Oh, my. In a few hours it will be Black Friday. I went to the outlet mall one year and it was insane. I am staying home tonight. The outlet mall was packed with bus loads from Mexico and many people from China and other places and the line was all the way around the back of Coach handbag store and it was cold outside too. Whew. I go to Disney store too because I like Mickey Mouse. People in Seattle called me Mickey Mouse when I had a Mickey Mouse tee shirt after I worked at Disney in FL.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too John ... and Ben, Chupa, George, Jack, Javier family, wandering burros and ALL. Blessings.
