tank wrangler...










The new hole at the east end of the greenhouse was calling to me today.  Two truckloads of sand from the old dam and I had a level pad.  Decided on relocating the 3000 gallon tank that blew about 100 yards south last year for the first catchment installation.  It was caught in a draw so I used the trusty Toyota to pull it out.  Rolled it by hand into launch position then righted it into place (again with the truck).  A bit of pushing and prodding and got the tank right where I wanted it.  Thankfully, the big dig ended up perfect for the appropriate slope for the gutter downspout.  Math and physics can be your best friends if you pay attention to them.  Good work day rewarded with a nice sunset.  68,86,43,0,B

    You're lucky that you got out of NYC. The sidewalks are teeming with people. It's overcrowded, rude, dirty,expensive, bad air, no stars. Yeah, I did my time there too.

    Further on that breathtaking sunset - it is reassuring that it is true and was not conjured by Hollywood - however praiseworthy it may be for the backdrop artist. I am almost positive i will see it one fine day with me own eyes :)

    John, it is truly impressive what you have done, because it proves that if one man can do it alone, what the hell is wrong with our society. Why aren't we doing this and getting out of debt.     I wish we had some rewards for work around here but alass all we have is unemployment and it's starting to look real good where you are might be a good place to spend my retirement dollars is there any more land near you up for grabs?? Good work on the tanks and hope you catch the next rain in time for a good fillup..

    The local newspaper (Fort Worth Star-Telegram) ran a story on the field lab and I gotta say, I'm pretty excited at the notion of what you're doing. I've only been following your efforts for a short time, but I'm 'bout ready to be a like-minded neighbor.
