Just love your photography, especially when you get all macro with tiny unknown (to me) wildlife- a window into another world. And such vibrant, saturated color. It's amazing how much life there is lying out there on that baked-out hardpan, just waiting for the rain.
I saw a PU that looked like yours headed north and I said to myself "Hey... I bet John is headed for Alpine." I guess I assumed right. The headache on top of it gives you away every time.
Shoot, forget that ever clear. Find you a Mexican that has some Sotol. My experiences with it when I lived out there is still clean in my mind. First drink is sort of like hot kerosene, but after that. Goes down like water and THAT'S the problem... Too easy to drink At that time I was getting it from across the border from a local ranchers foreman
Sotol is a spirit made from the Sotol plant. Tequila is made from the Blue Agave. Mescal is a made from the Maguey Agave.
Twenty to thirty years ago I used to load up on all the above in border towns including Boquillas for cheap. Today they probably would call it smuggling.
Missing the live feed. Do you have some bad longhorns again?
ReplyDeleteis the everclear how you plan to convince the state/Fed guys to designate your pond as a wildlife preserve?
ReplyDelete:-)
sorry... could not resist!
Making some of your own medicinals?

ReplyDeleteSomehow, I don't see you drinking the Everclear. Will try to bring you something good to drink from the big city.
