finesse

Fought with the drill press today trying to mill the coin chambers.  I knew from the get go that precision would not be a $79 drill press's strong point.  Discovered on the third attempt that even though the depth gauge was locked in, pressure on the handle was what was causing it to go too deep.  Finally figured out the right touch to get a consistent correct depth milled circle (bottom right).  82,91,72,0,B

    I have a cheap drill press too. It's better than no drill press.

    No matter what the craft--dare I say art, there is always the element of the artist's hand whether it show in the actual fingerprint, as in ceramics sometimes, or in the perfection of discovering the way to make the media work for you. In sewing, we called it, "Holding your mouth just right."
