  1. I don't see how John goes to Alpine for supplies, does a great job of housecleaning, and makes a short movie - in such a short period of time? Maybe he has trained his animals to do part of the housework? Could be he has hired a secret helper to get all those projects done?

  2. Oh yeah - John has trained his longhorn steer to do part of the filming!

  3. Very nice. Can't help but wonder what the item is that's hanging on the wall beneath the black hat.?

  6. This afternoon I was napping and dreaming about Thriftway in your movie. I dreamed there was a box of $1.00 values and I found what looked like a ping-pong paddle of wood with a hinge (connecting 2 lightweight paddles)
at the top and it was an inexpensive tortilla press. And I was laughing because no one knew what it was and I was going to get it and make a few small corn tortillas.

  7. I compliment you John, for recognizing your limit of space designed into your first home construction. You only allowed for what you were able to cope with.

  8. I had a house fire back in upstate NY. After taking two years to rebuild the 2800 sq ft home, I decided that was just too much space.

  9. I see large trees growing in Alpine. Could you have trees at TFL?

  10. I have four Palo Verde trees I am slowly growing out here. I started them from seed almost 7 years ago. One of them is 6' tall now. https://thefieldlab.blogspot.com/2015/09/palo-verde-1.html

  11. I remember the Palo Verde trees. Glad they're growing. The birds and the bees will enjoy them ... Javier too.

  12. Golly, has it Benin 7 years already. The older one gets, the faster time seems to fly by in our short time allotted for our life span cycle.
