A lot of people move out here thinking just because the land is cheap that life will be a "free ride" from now on. Hardly the case when the nearest major shopping is at least 70 miles away. It takes me just under an hour to drive to the grocery store in Alpine. All the seasoned locals know this drive very well.
Very nice. I stopped it several times trying to find landmarks. Saw the border check point loud and clear. You have quite a way to go to 118-a lot of privacy. And you even had clean Levi's on. Exciting to go to town. TY for the movie-like it. The place is growing.
think John was slightly exceeding the speed limit… mach 1.9 (~1458mph, 70m/~3minutes) give or take, slowing for the border check/Porter's parking — night drive would be something. That's a blue sky. Lucky there was no train [2:41] would have slowed the roll - back that train up… YouTube is blurring reality, like a white Toyota hurtling down a straight stretch of Texas asphalt…. when he gets the new truck…
forgot to ask - was that Manny [54 seconds] & does he get screen credit for the cameo? also forgot to account for the slower walking, think it was sub-mach ambling. Would probably freak Alpiners out to see you walk at film speed… not to mention Chupa.
roadside dine & dash …tried, but couldn't stop it in flight - up and out of frame to the right…? was there another one? I would need NSA image data crunching search ability & mucha suerte to find the one you saw… good we aren't seeing everything on YouTube that you get to see… enjoyed the movie, even without seeing the hawk treat. did you see the water in L.A? actual flowing water in the L.A. River…
You will do well in Namibia. Very similar set-up to yours over there. Harsh arid environment...similar roads. Long if not extensively long distances. From our farm to Windhoek to shop was a whole day drive. No such thing as a shop just around the corner. Your film reminded me of home.

There was actually a hawk right by the road that took off when I passed by. Good luck finding that.

I found it on the regular footage but even then it was too brief to consider.
