Where all the water goes out here when it rains. This canyon is quite deep and wide because the watershed that feeds through here is about ten square miles. pamit...there is one crossing that is pretty much washed out that goes to a property diagonally from mine. I actually contacted the owner of that property several years ago about buying it from him. It includes 10 acres on top of that hill to the left of the canyon. He hasn't been out for 20 years but didn't want to sell it because he thought it might be good for hunting someday. I told him all he would be able to hunt from there is...me. Still no deal.
Jimmy - John Wells once built a "small dam" across that canyon - and it is long gone! It would take a heck of lots more than a "small dam" to withstand the flow coming down that canyon! I once walked across that dam - and now it is completely gone. I think I see where the bulldozer scrapped some earth on the banks - but that is all. Water catchments on your roof to provide water for our wildlife - are both cheaper to install & don't wash on down the canyon.
