So you think you're an atheist?

Simply declaring there is no God without even trying and following that conjecture is rather foolish when considering the consequences.  It is very easy to just deny the existence of God based on worldly thought promoted by a society that wallows in earthly pleasure rather than putting forth the effort to search Him out and having the faith of trusting in Him.  Ask and you shall receive...it is as simple as that.  For those of you who insist on ignoring His gift - here is an incredibly flawed primer for you to follow.  Good luck with that if you can't see the problem with any of these excuses to deny God.  Be very careful.  Are you sure you want to go there without even trying?  There is no turning back.  Note:  If you really want to seal the deal, the website has a link to "cool atheist / agnostic / humanist proscience / skeptical / irreligious t-shirts which are fun to wear".

Matthew 12:32  And whosoever speaketh the word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

  1. Just keep asking the fashionable atheist: "And where did that come from ?" Also cite the second law of thermodynamics; i.e., that energy can not spontaneously change from a less organized state (such as the "big bang") to the astonishingly organized,low-level energy states inherent in all forms of life.

  2. As a child, infinity was a difficult concept for me. Of course there is something greater than myself in the universe and I choose to say God or my Higher Power. It makes everything so much easier.

  3. You are asking for trouble by using the word "or". If you think there is a choice then the false one will never be able to help you and the real one no longer will.

  4. I believe it is matter of numerous records that many transcendentally brilliant scientists and philosophers throughout the centuries concluded that God is the Highest Power.

  5. I did not mean a choice - either, or. I meant God is the Highest (Higher) Power. Semantics.

  6. Well, if you must know, since 1976, I went to AA. AA was founded based in religion (Oxford Group) but for many it did not work. So they took out religion and made it a Spiritual program to include people of the world. Much of the literature uses religious words from the past, such as God. But for the people in all countries based on Spiritualism, the words Higher Power are used. It is a Higher Power of our own understanding. It is our own personal Higher Power based on our beliefs. It could be Good Orderly Direction, Buddha, Allah, God, the AA group, or whatever. So I got in the habit of saying Higher Power. Because if I said God or read the Bible at a meeting, I would get called on it since it is a spiritual program and not religious. For instance in Alaska, we sent Russia AA Big Books to start their first meeting. In those days if they openly worshipped religiously, they could go to jail. But since AA is spiritual and not religious, they could partake with a Higher Power of their own understanding. And being sober and chemically free, this program saves lives. It saved mine. But people would jump on me in AA if I discussed religion during a meeting. We are not supposed to discuss religion or politics (too many upsetting different opinions).

  7. My DNA test showed I was born not able to drink or do drugs. I have to be very careful at the doctors and dentists. Sometimes it is difficult to get the right treatment and medicine without being sick from it. DNA also just sent me another notice (23 and Me DNA testing). They said I was born with the muscles of an elite Olympian athlete (people who go to the Olympics). Imagine. Yes, I normally came in first in all sports without previous practice. And men and women just looked at me and were amazed at how I could lift heavy things. My childhood friend (a lawyer) told me it was too bad I was not born a boy so I could play professional baseball. (That comment amazed me). (I wonder if that includes my heart muscle to beat a little longer). :-)

  8. Thanks for the instructive clarification and explanation.

  9. Margery...you keep bringing up you DNA testing when in fact all the home DNA tests on the market today are little more than an expensive novelty with scant scientific basis that proves little about your true heritage. A Senate Committee on Aging held hearings in 2006 in regard to this scam. https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CHRG-109shrg30711/html/CHRG-109shrg30711.htm
