backup before it's too late...

The trusty old PC is starting to have some issues.  Before I sort out why the brain behind this operation is bogging down so much, I took the opportunity to backup files to 2 redundant external hard drives.  68,80,47,0,B

  2. Crashplan is a great way to backup 24/7 without thinking about it.

  8. I like the EZ Gig IV cloning software with a spare harddrive that will fit the laptop. If the existing drive is just corrupted, a really easy clone from the spare gets it going, complete with OS, all installed programs, data and settings. If the hard drive is gone, you "simply" swap in your spare cloned drive. This kit covers all types of drives including the older "pata" drives (not common at stores). A slightly lower cost kit provides EZ GIG IV software and a cable for today's common "sata" drives, usually installed in laptops from 2008 forward.

  9. Try Puppy Linux before before making Mr. Gates even richer. It works great for me.

  10. On second thought, I think I'll take the above advice but go the Ubuntu route .
