RitaB

Finished the first corner....got halfway done with pipe for the next corner.  Our friend RitaB finally made it out here Sunday afternoon for a meet'n'greet with Ben...and the full TFL tour.  We both really enjoyed meeting her.

My generator is starting to fritz on me.  I'm getting intermittent voltage drops on the output power...engine is running smooth though.  AC drops from 120 to about 28 from time to time.  This problem just started about 2 weeks ago.  Had some trouble with it this morning then it ran fine for 3 hours straight.  It's a Generac GP5000.  Any advice from genexperts out there would be greatly appreciated.  69,78,56,0,C,0

Sticky or worn out brush on the alternator (or whatever is converting the motion to power) That the low voltage is basically a divisor of the total power might me a hint. Some thoughts on testing it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC_LrrZcx38

Just a wag but it sounds like the voltage regulator is going out, it's the only part susceptible to intermittant problems. That video eriko pointed out looks like a good way to isolate the problem. Very rarely a circuit breaker can fault but not trip, if the line side reads normal voltage but the output side is low it's bad.

I think Dale and Eriko have given you good first level triage.

Good looking work on the corner. Good luck with the gen.
