a tricky question

If you read the question carefully - you noticed I did not ask how long the pump ran but rather, how many hours the swamp cooler was turned on per day.  If the pump turns on and off 6300 times per 30 day month then it turns on and off 210 times per day ( 6300 ÷ 30 = 210).  It's of no matter how long the pump is on, what is key is that it turns on and off every 4 minutes - or 15 times per hour (60 ÷ 4 = 15).  If the pump cycles 15 times per hour and 210 times per day, then the correct answer is 14 hours (210 ÷ 15 = 14).  96,102,72,0,B

If it does not matter how long the pump is on why specifically 9 secs. ? Rhetorical really, it's your game.

In reality Pepino is always on between the pump, fans and timers, even when it appears to be idle it is counting and that must be considered operating.

A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer. See the link below for more info.
