trumped...

Well...it's over.  I have taken a lot of flack on Facebook over the past year debunking stupid rumors from both sides of the aisle.  The debate always ended abruptly with no counter points or facts - just me being accused of supporting the opposition even though my disclaimer has always been: "I am a conservative Christian constitutionalist.  I support neither candidate nor do I even vote.  You cannot truly know the enemy if you base your opinions on stupid lies."  That being said - the people have spoken...at least about half of them did.  Less than 20% of eligible voters chose the nominees and less than 60% of eligible voters chose the next president.  I stopped voting years ago (and joined nearly half the population) because I got tired of choosing between the lesser of two evils.  I believe that in this election, even that choice was unavailable.  Perhaps someday in the future I will vote again, but not until there is a definite clear choice instead of only the perception of the lesser of two evils.  And don't give me that "If you don't vote - don't bitch" nonsense.  That is a moot point given the circumstances of this election.  Give me a good option someday and I will be first in line at the polls.

So the gate has swung once again and Republicans will be back in charge for awhile.  But Trump? Really?  Is that the best you could come up with?  At least we won't have to listen to years of how the election was rigged.  Outside of his campaign slogan "Make America Great Again", I can't remember once hearing Trump say anything that made much sense, wasn't an outright lie, or just immaturity masquerading as "political incorrectness".  It is sad to think that such a wild card could be the only way to defeat Hillary.  I am going to go out on a limb here and say I could have gone for Ted Cruz but since he wouldn't have been such a vindictive ass (like Trump has been) - there wouldn't have been nearly as much negative press for Clinton and I don't think he would have squeeked by in the general election.  Of course if you go along with most of the Clinton rumor mill...how could she possibly lose (even to Trump) if she is SO powerful and the government is SO corrupt?  And what about all those rigged election machines from Soros?  And where are her global elitists that ordained her so they can take over the world?  And why didn't "Killery" just have Trump killed?

Now we get to listen to Democrats bitch and moan for at least the next 4 years (which I have to admit secretly pleases me a little) while we wait and see how the trump card plays out as to the Donalds' rapidly changing policy positions throughout the campaign.  Will he stay true to his quote from The Art of The Deal?
"You can't con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and get all kinds of press, and you can throw in a little hyperbole. But if you don't deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on."

Lord help us to help each other and to know and do your will always,
in Jesus name, amen.

"I exhort therefore, that, first of all,
supplications, prayers, intercessions,
and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority;
that we may lead a quiet
and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."

I disagree. Donald Trump is an excellent choice for president, and I believe that it was Divine Providence that allowed a Trump victory. We had a choice to between the end of America or a new beginning. If it weren't for massive voter fraud the margin would have been much greater. It was about time that we elected a man for president instead of some effeminate thing as.

Mr. Trump will be the 45th President of the United States. God be with him.

TRUMP is POTUS- the American people have spoken - for better or worse.

I don't think the folks who voted for him are going to get what they were hoping for, we'll see. A mixed bag is probably the reality and Mr. Trump is NOT a Conservative even though who got real good at mouthing the right words for the right audience.

Once we get past the initial Kumbaya foolishness - I think we're going to see a truly vicious internecine war among the GOP for control of legislation and Executive Orders!

Hang on for the ride!

@alleyrat1476 just curious about your claim of massive voter fraud. Can you point us to what you're referring to?

The system has certainly failed working American's of all races and regions. But the idea that President pussy grabber elect will solve all our problems is such a tragic and laughable concept. There was no good choice in this election but there is no justification for voting a lunatic like Trump into the most powerful position in the world. The American people are about to get what they deserve. They (and the media) have just legitimized massive dishonesty, speech and behavior of the lowest imaginable order by the most profoundly ignorant candidate ever. Many of them are ranting on Facebook that GOD sent The Donald to save us from Obama who was actively trying to destroy America. And some of those are relatives.

I could see this coming having lived in rural Shasta county. There were no affordable health care plans there before Obamacare and the only the same awful ones were available afterwards but now at greatly inflated prices, premiums of 12000 per year for my wife and I and deductibles of 13000 dollars per year.

This is like waking up after 9-11. But by now it's pretty clear that the terrorists have truly won due to our hubris and dishonesty.

Either way it came out I had already decided to pray more for our Leaders... Our Country... and the World. I am sure the 'Chumpster' can use it. :)

Good post, John.

I'm glad Trump won. Not because I like all of his ideas, but because he is NOT a career politician. That is what was intended by the nation's founding fathers and it has been way too long.

alleyrat: Divine providence chose the candidate that owns an empire built on gambling? lol

Both options were terrible. This whole election has been depressing. It should be interesting seeing how the next four years play out. We'll see if this 15% tax break for the richest Americans actually creates jobs. I have my doubts, especially since the vast majority of articles about trickle down economics seem to paint it in a negative light.

To me the biggest loser is the environment. Say goodbye to your (relatively) clean air and water, folks. Whatever Big Business wants, it gets. Goodbye EPA, FDA, USDA etc. Caveat emptor, sero.

That scares me as well. I agree with trump on a few points, mainly his dislike of the TPP & wanting to replace obamacare with something better, although I have doubts since he hasn't put forth any actual plan, but his stance on the environment is just bizarre. Calling global warming a chinese conspiracy? What!?

Idiot wind
Blowing like a circle around my skull,
From the Grand Coulee Dam to the Capitol
Idiot wind
Blowing every time you move your teeth
You're an idiot, babe.
It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe

This is the best, most well-thought-out and well-spoken post-election post I've seen. Good work!
