battery day

Just got my new (used) AGM batteries from local Ron Mohr of Green Desert Living.  These were in service for 2 years by an unknown government agency as battery backup.  Brand new, they run about $450 each not including shipping.  Ron is selling them for 90 bucks a pop.  Time for a new TFL test.  60,71,34,0,B

10 year design life...

whoo hoo!!

yes keep us informed..

question - what keeps them from being over-charged .. and what is the maximum charge
you configure them to?

They are supposed to be charged up to 13.8 daily. I have a simple charge controller that I can program the max charge rate.

You have been out there so long that you are getting to be a knowlegable pro.

Knowledgeable - how I first spelled it.

Do you know how many years your batteries were used & if they were maintained at spec 77F. temp - TFL doesn't have good temps for longevity
I am wondering what your experiment will yield in service life

...I "wonder" about a lot of things. That is why I created TFL - so I can "know" from personal experience.
