Just replaced a dying battery bank. I tried out some deep cycle marine batteries from AutoZone a few years ago and they started dying out on me last year. I am replacing them with some surplus AGM batteries (absorbent glass mat) I bought locally from Ron Mohr of Green Desert Living. These are sealed batteries that unlike lead acid batteries, do not off-gas hydrogen when they are charging and do not require adding water. They were in service for 2 years as part of a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) at some undisclosed government facility. They tend to replace these often when sensitive electronics cannot afford a loss of power. That was the scariest movie I've watched since the old "Shock Theater" days.
These should work great, I used a similar set in an electric car conversion. If they can handle the 680 amp surge I put on them they should work fine for you. Just don't over charge them or they may vent. Don't ask me how I know.
Would you still do TFL without "power"?
Sam Finn...that is just crazy talk.
I hear ya John!
Now that has a double meaning. Well, my daughter is on vacation in the Baltic States and stays in a 4star luxury hotel. She sent some nice pictures.
I know right? I was half expecting our host to be shot up above the frame...
