Archie's!

Ha! - I thought you got a fancy saw-toothed graphic on the side of your truck at 1st glance of the second image, then realized it was the lift.

Archie told me a long story one time about running in for parts somewhere while his wife stayed behind in the truck, and how she managed to chase off this guy that came up to the truck in a threatening way while he was inside.

I'll let him tell you the rest of the story, but it involved a pistol and a scared dude running off and, I think, Brewster County law eventually showing up. He told me, "I was only in there a couple minutes. It all happened faster than it's taking for me to tell you about it!"

Those tires look good - They ought to serve you well.

Great to see Terlingua getting more essential services.

Good story Road. TY for the warning. I see it could happen anywhere.

Hard to .believe the owner has the guts to display that flag in this day and age. I have nothing against him doing that, in fact I have such a flag in my house, not displayed. I am afraid so many take offense to it, they have their reasons. My feeling is everyone is entitled to their views and I should respect the.

Thanks, Margery. Not a warning, really, just a story from Archie.

I always enjoy reading your stories, too, and hope I get to meet you someday when down your part of the country. I imagine you might be an interviewer's dream.

Omg, CT, I did not even notice the flag. Years ago I was so scared to drive through Alabama and MS from the stories I heard from the people moving North that I actually bought a flag like everyone else and put it in the back window of my vehicle like the other people. :-) (Everyone was always very nice though).

I also noticed people drove differently out by Terlingua. If someone was stopped by the side of the highway, people went in the other lane and whizzed by at 80 plus mph. At one of the few pumps home, I stopped for gas. There was no one around and then a polite young service man from the north pulled in. He was complaining of going 80 and someone would whiz by at 100 or more mph. I was so tired and just said yes.
