Hypocrites!

A common argument that atheists use against Christian is that they are all hypocrites...that they don't themselves live the lives they proclaim should be lived by all.  Unfortunately due to sin, no man can live up to the idea of a perfect Christian life on earth.  Bottom line?  While accepting Christ and experiencing the Holy Spirit is a start - sin is still around every corner and always an influence.  But to deny the Holy Spirit in the name of hypocrisy gives you absolutely no hope against Satan.  God is real and far more than just some part of a magical belief system.  To think otherwise or use hypocrisy as an excuse is a losing game.

Hey John'
I saw somewhere in your blog (I think when you had the buggy wreck and broke your leg?) that you have a satellite phone service for that area since there are few landlines and rare cell service. You said your plan offered 300 minutes/month at $30 per month or so. How do I get in touch with them to set this up, do they have a website? Any info you could give would be a big help. Trying to get what I can, set up, before I make the first drive down. I want to at least get a storage/live in building set up, IF I can get the info to do that. Supposed to be a guy there, near the American Legion that has that business. Can't locate him online either. I want to bring a load down on the first trip. I would prefer to only have to make one trip. All that gas money could be put to better use. Thanks!

We should submit ourselves in obedience to God's commandments. We cannot keep them in our OWN power. But by His strength we are to accomplish this. "If you love me, keep my commandments" , Most of the people He healed, He also said "GO and sin no more".
Most who profess Christ, rarely read and study His Word. This is the primary way He communicates His will and the knowledge OF Him. We are to "...study to shew thyself approved unto God..." Be like the Bereans, who "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.*

1 John 5

Whosoever beleiveth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

He not only died to pay the penalty for our sins, but also to free us from the slavery TO sin. He makes a way to ESCAPE every temptation that our OWN lusts lead us into. If we abide in Christ, His Spirit will immediately warn us prior to committing sin, ie NOT resisting with the power He makes available to us. We often allow our own desires to overwhelm the direction the Spirit wills us to go. He doesn't force us to do anything. We have to seek Him moment by moment, as Paul said, it is not I that liveth, but Christ that liveth within me.
This is what baptism represents, we die to self, we are buried underwater, we are resurrected into a new life(in Christ), we are raised out of the water. This is the BEGINNING of a new walk in Christ. The warfare does not end when we accept Christ...it only begins, BUT now we have all the power of God at our disposal to fight Him, we only have to call upon Him. That is the Beauty of it, satan has already been defeated by Christ, and knows it. Now that he has been cast down, he "knoweth he has but a short time" and he walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. God Bless you Brother, study daily!

Beautiful picture. Your building outline looks like something wealthy from the city and futuristic. Like the photo. TY.

I am waiting to see if you will renovate your trailer as thought about in the past.

Amen John!
If we could live the "perfect" Christian life in our own power, then there would be no need for the Holy Spirit.
The fact of the matter is everyone is a sinner, but those who choose to put there faith in Christ are saved by grace!

Why would I join a religion when every religious person I’ve met has judged me or revealed their own bigotry? I do not expect a person to be perfect, I fully understand that’s impossible, but my goodness, the sheer lack of compassion most “Christians” display for other humans these days made me realize there is no benefit in re-joining another man-made institution. I sin enough for myself, thank you, I don’t need to be surrounded by far right-wingers that injure themselves by patting their backs over how much better they are than “those” others (e.g. Illegals, Democrats, Muslims, Jews, gays, etc).

Bottom line: Bad Christians create more atheists. Atheists only lose when Christians ACT as Christ would: loving and compassionate. The more groups you hate, the more YOU deny the Holy Spirit. I used to believe the more one lives as the gospels ask, the more the Holy Spirit shines bright. I feel I lost my faith as this country became darker. Some time in my youth, religion meant less about caring and more about supporting political ideologies. Damn those people to hell that did that; they are the highest sinners.
