business is picking up...

Baked nine loaves for two clients today and just got a double order of croissants for Monday.  Finally gave in and started an Instagram account for my bread photos.  89,97,49,0,B

the wonder of bread…who knew that loafing would be so much work?
congrats on the rising biz - hope the doughy-goodness brings in some extra pocket bread…
have a friend that gave up his blog in favor of Instagram - hope you don't do that,
but I can see the allure.
See that the "oven" is heating up… looks like you'll be 100°+ soon… 97° today sounds toasty.

This is wonderful. (I forgot about the shower at Terlingua Ranch pool. Or perhaps a college pool and shower in Alpine.) Will all this bread effort be worth your time financially? Sounds like a good occupation. Is this called a cottage industry?

I can only sell my bread locally. Shipping is prohibited under the Texas Cottage Food Law.

I see Bee's drinking water in your videos. Find the hive and add a little local honey to your recipes.

Well now you will really be contributing to the prosperity of area. Certainly, some tourists might be very grateful for some of this nourishment. :-) Maybe a tourist store or snack shack could sell some of your products? It might go well with some of their homemade jam or whatever that they sell.

So you will be the bakery for regular weekly orders. People can pick up their fresh eggs somewhere, their homemade jam, and now fresh bread. How good can it get? :-) I was shocked to watch on utube Applachian (where some of my family comes from) cooking with Brenda. Everything came out of a can. How unhealthy. Then I realized some people have free canned food and not too bright so that would help them. I learned more about fresh and healthier food and that is fun to learn about too. Just think of those good sandwiches people can make with your healthy bread.

The Bread and the Water.

To explicate a little, John, if you will allow (and I apologize that I blather on).

To my view, it's no coincidence that your hands turn to the labor of breads. It is expressive of the spiritual journey, of course; and that lies ever at the core of things we do. At least, when we are of those who've awakened to Life. And bread is so significant in that it lies at the core of human civilizations, exploded upon the planet.

And too, in my view, as it has struck me in paying some small attention, it is no coincidence that your thoughts turned one recent morning toward the watering hole down at the wash. And so you sent your "eyes" down there just to have a look, something creatures have done (and will continue to do) since the Dawning. All living things attune to the water hole. It is Life.

And so too, we see you laying it out in pans for the little creatures at your door step. These are expressions of our human core, and we need to see them, feel them, again.

And so, yes, your watering hole video was perfect. Just as are others of yours; and you know which. I suggested Cannes, but maybe Sundance, too. Only because surely there are outlets yearning for what is clear and true and simple, expressive of the natural human being, as we still walk amongst brother creatures. And we are all attuned to the water, and to the bread.

This quality is all around us of course, and yet we can hardly glimpse it any more, in the superficial rush overwhelming us. It surrounds us, diverts and dilutes us. It is tragic in a sense. Yes, there is meaning in all things big and small, but sometimes we need the simple and poignant piece of purist art, just to ALLOW us to stop a moment, and to be still. And to look -- once again.

Thanks for that.

It seems you are finding a new marker (talent) in your life. On t.v. they were talking about what people say when they live to be 112 or so and how annoying it is. They say they drink everyday or smoke or eat sweets (their longevity secrets :-). But then the common denominator in longevity is lack of stress. Stress free. Also some people say what they think and get it off their chest and/or laugh or do not take things so seriously. A geriatric doctor once told me that it is all in the genes. But I think we can take care of ourselves by eating properly (which I need to pay attention to), exercise, enough sleep, etc.

A doctor told me to eat wheat bread.
