This raven started raiding my trash cans about two weeks ago. Now I serve him breakfast at 9 AM every morning. He prefers a nice cold egg right out of the refrigerator. News Theme 2 by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...)

Raw egg? Or do you hard boil 'em?

Raw. I don't think ravens get many hard boiled eggs in the wild.

He must have an inbuilt clock like animals do when he is waiting for you on time. :-) I hope he does not let any of that precious egg slip away. Do you think it could be a female who is providing for young? I have seen those birds before but I thought maybe they were big crows. Chihuahuan Ravens huh? Among the Natives in Alaska there are Eagle and also Raven Clans and they are carved on a person's totem pole depending on which clan they belong too. I think Ravens are so smart and often friendly. A visitor and his wife were on an island with their Chihuahua. An Eagle swooped down and took the Chihuahua dog. The husband jumped up and down and waved his arms and gleefully said - yes, yes, yes as his wife's Chihuahua vanished. True.`

It’s so cool to help out all the wild critters!

If you haven't read this already, I can highly recommend Bern Heinrich's Mind of the Raven. Ravens are such fascinating creatures - there's a lot going on in that tiny head.

You can probably get the book cheaper at Amazon, but I bought it years ago up at the Book Peddler in West Yellowstone (MT ravens are featured). They're not online but YF is a good charity so, what the hey, I'm gonna give 'em a plug here:
