Doesn't look like black water now. Hope it don't keep dropping that fast or it won't be long before its gone. (Without more rain)

Now you're talkin! Course you still need an inner tube and a ice chest full of beer.... and a couple of them Terlingua Tiger Kats

Gonna have to come to Terlingua to get cooled off. Hard to believe it is hotter and drier here in the piney woods of East Texas than it is out your way.

... as someone with an Arkansas drawl said when describing the Gov. of Texas : “He’s a good-looking rascal.” Looks like it was a fine day for a dip and all the wildlife had to be appreciative of the oasis you created.

Been reading your blog for over a year, this is my favorite photo, for sure

I have to agree with Lanette. If I had to name the photo I would have to call it. "Cool Satisfaction"

If the pond would stay full, what is the maximum depth it will achieve? Can the wildlife get to the water or are you having to pull water for them. Like someone else said it is nice that you have been able to create a watering hole especially with the drought Texas has had this year.

Water good. Water in the desert is gold! I hope you didn't contaminate it . . .

Hopefully you can keep all the poopin' burros and long horns out of your honey hole!

It's good to be the King!!

It's been a pleasure to watch the progress on the "shade" and now even better to hear about a break from the heat for the animals and the king. enjoy!

You need to get yourself one of these if you haven't already.

Also, watch out for those pesky brain eating amoebas while you're out there riding those waves!

These are the things I love about today's post, and this photo:
1. Water in the desert, and in this current drought.
2. Said water helping out your critters.
3. You chillin' out in the water.
4. You have a lady friend there with you, to share it with, and to take your picture.
Way To Go!

Love it. Be careful out there. I hate to hear of someone drowning in the desert in the middle of a drought.
