intermittent internet...
Web going on and off today...figured I'd better post early while I still can. I think it's a line problem but just ordered a backup DSL modem from BestBuy in case the BBT one goes out on me again. Actiontec - 1-Port Ethernet Broadband DSL Modem with Built-In Firewall. Needed two more supports prepped'n'welded up this morning for the west face soon to be polycarbonate. Perhaps I'll get them primed tonight if some cloud cover rolls in. It's HOT working "on top" of the new shade. Set up the gennie and charge controller to equalize my battery bank...they are due for a boost.

Last time I had the Internet going off and on, lighting had struck one of the lighting arrestors on the telephone pole and made a hole in the arrestors protective casing, so water could get in. When the sun got up during the day the water vapor would collect on the arrestor it would short out the Internet and sometimes the phone. When it cooled down the water would drain back into the bottom of the protective case and everything worked fine. Phone company thought I was crazy until they monitored it for awhile. Even when the phone worked during these episodes it would have varying amounts of static or an echo.
I'm sure it's hot as heck on top of that corrugated roofing- maybe if you threw up a few sheets of osb to work on... This may not be what you want to read, but it's some info on the drought situation: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/14/opinion/sunday/as-texas-dries-out-life-falters-and-fades.html?scp=2&sq=texas%20drought&st=cse Putting up that shade is really a kind thing for your bovine friends. They probably can't find any shade anywhere else.
No Inet problems here yesterday that I know of.
found the glitch on my end...fixed.
Intermittent internet will drive you crazy. Well, it drove me crazy. Switched to cable and it cleared up. So glad to hear you got yours up and running again.
That is one of the strongest, most well built buildings I've ever seen. It's probably one of the most substantial buildings in Brewster County. Looking forward to visiting again this fall, and seeing it in person.
Fingers crossed for more rain...
