no raccoons were harmed

No more action inside the greenhouse for a couple of days now.  Sealed up the coon entry today.  Removed the wood that served as their ladder to the doorway.  They had been on top of all four shipping containers, the west end roof, and the high roof as well.  Must of had quite a time traversing all the steel work up there to make their way around.  85,91,58,0,B

Looking at those trusses brought back some fond memories of times gone by back when you first started building that oasis. Watching it all come together and only one person doing it. The 1/2 inch rebar trusses I would have never thought of! Alone but not lonely I'm sure

I had one of those Davy Crockett hats when I was a kid. Disney made some money on that early Fess Parker TV show that was later edited into two movies. Davy Crockett was the kid fad of the day.

Apparently Disneyland owed part of it's existence to Davy Crockett in 1954:
Wikipedia
As part of a deal that allowed him to build a theme park, Disneyland, Disney would produce weekly one-hour television programs for ABC. Disney wished to highlight historical figures and his company developed three episodes on Crockett—Davy Crockett, Indian Fighter, Davy Crockett Goes to Congress, and Davy Crockett at the Alamo— starring Fess Parker as Crockett. According to historians Randy Roberts and James Olson, "by the end of the three shows, Fess Parker would be very well known, the power of television would be fully recognized, and Davy Crockett would be the most famous frontiersman in American history."

Glad you cut the guy some slack. I enjoy the raccoon's here. There hasn't been a case of rabies in the county in more than twenty years, and they are interesting visitors.

I knew you wouldn't do it John! You may be a blinkered conservative but your heart's in the right place when it comes to critters :-) -- signed, Ellie May
