You'd be surprised how agile Longhorns are. I've loaded them onto stock trailers through a narrow round pen gate with no problems. They just cock their head and don't even break stride. Gates so narrow their sides almost touch, but the horns rarely even touch the posts. A round stock tank can be a problem, though.
Fit a ballcock/fluidmaster type valve so it fills automatically. Over here you get troughs with them pre-built into separate header tanks so the livestock don't damage them accidentally. If you put one in that tank you'd probably have to fabricate some protection for it from Ben's headgear.
