Epiphany

Had another one of those "where did that come from" dreams that woke me up at 5AM. As long as I was up early, I decided that today was the day to decide what to do about the trusses. Spent a couple of hours online doing a little more research. By 8:30 I was pooped so laid back down to relax and think about it some more. Just as I was about to fall asleep - it finally came to me. Shot out of bed, got dressed, fed and watered Benita and hit the road to Alpine for the parts I need to complete the manifestation of the big plan. Photo is a sculpture outside Blue Water Natural Foods on the way in to town.

Finished the design process in my head during the hour drive north. Got exactly what I think I will need at McCoys and True Value. Shopped quick then popped in to see Bennett Jones for an overdue visit. Did the usual stop at the grocery store, gassed up and did the drive through at my favorite restaurant in Alpine for lunch to go...a number six (crispy) with large coke and fries.

Got home and unloaded then took some time to reflect on the plan - looks like it is still a go...Headed down to the Starlight for 241 night with my NYC friend RB. Stuffed myself then back to the Field Lab to wind down the day. Benita was standing guard by the road when I arrived.

I hope all goes well with your truss placement John. While showing your love for the number six, it may be wise to keep Beneta's horns peeled for PETA folks. Can't wait to see what you have dreamed up. Cheers!

Don't you just love it when answers come to you when your sleeping. It reminds us that the ol' brain never turns off.

Glad you was able to visualize your plan and will be excited as to how it all works out.

Also love the good ol' Golden Arches but I do not get to have it too often. Oh well, we can't have everything.

It is nice to see that Benita gets to spend twilight time with a friend who cares for and about her. We should all be so lucky.

Some of our best impressions come when our minds are not fogged up with little every day challenges...like "what I gonna eat for breakfast", "where my hammer", "Oh God, another flat tire".....etc.etc.
Not know'n what this structure is gonna look like, what is one of Johns little tricks to keep us on edge, I trust his dreams and impressions.
We gonna see a truss "riz'n" four ya knows it, Just like that...truss on da roof.
Benita is such a good cow!!!

John, you probably have seen this but if not, I thought you would enjoy seeing someone else with a similar perspective of the Longhorn as yourself. He even calls them pets...

I didn't know Alpine had a Whole Foods Market. Must be new.
Also, that McDonalds looks just like the one over here near my house. Amazing!

Can't wait to see what you've cooked up for the truss raisin'.
I know it'll be good.

I know the history on the sphere that now lives just south of Alpine ,

My friend John S. fabricated that thing back in the early 2000 .The last time I saw it was at the Terlingua Store off 166 by the Wick Fowler/Carol Shelby chili cookoff site , the one on the left up on the hill across from Desert Sports. Untill I was at your place and saw it at the bowling alley on the way back to the mountains.

On my site posting "The Rail Road Blues" you will see an art car he also built.
John is still in the area and surprised you 2 have not met !

anyway good luck with the iron lift,

cheers !

Jonh, got my solar panels in today (pics on my blog), but not sure how I gonna get them on the roof. I'll be watch'n very intently as you raise that 250# truss so I'll get me an idea of a "better way". So make sure you post pics of the raising.
